Fantastic game with only the odd ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Far more playable than I'd thought, especially if you read some of the reviews.

Firstly, I got this because I had a game called street rod back in the day. and this is easily a successor to it if they add a couple of features. Like racing for pink slips. And an auto parts trader. but everything else is superb.

Ok firstly, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The navigation inside a repair mode is a little weird and sometimes decides to move you somewhere you dont want to be or dont expect, but you get used to it.

Ugh, that tutorial. found online when trying to figure out how to get out of it ( was fine, just i didnt want to spend a whole bunch of time in a mode that would ultimately expire and i'd be at square 1) - Apparently you can skip it to start, OR, chuck some oil in the car that looks modernish, click the garage door, click the test track, click the modern looking car you just filled with oil ( remove oil cap on rocker cover, then click and hold mouse button down till the bottle drops back) and then drive through all of the waypoints and stop on the waypoint that has the stop sign under it. Tutorial over.

Sometimes, you are in a mode ( theres in engine bay and underneath it when you are changing mechanical parts) and it claims you need to be in that mode to interact with the part. exiting and re-entering fixes this. happens very rarely.

Repairing parts isnt as intuitive with the outcome noise as it could be, and sometimes the skill tree looks like it doesnt let you get something just to spite you, but in a level or sometimes 2 it allows it. this is not a greyed out option, its otherwise normal and unobtained looking, waiting for you to spend a point.

Other than that the game is just fantastic. the attention to detail is great, the workshop environment has been faithfully re-created by at least someone who has done stuff in a workshop before or is passionate about it. Be prepared to spend hours stripping down cars and finding issues, testing cars so you dont have to strip everything down, and ripping off customers with your kept but near death parts that they dont check. Its like a dodgy car mechanic simulator. its hilarious.
Neat parody radio stations are available on it, and the DLC actually has licensed parts for 4 cars total.

full disclaimer, I dont know (well, didnt know) one of a car from the other before playing this, so I cant vouch for the absolute accuracy on parts, infact some look like they'd normally have more bolts, but my dad who has stripped many a car in his day was floored at how much they do actually cover. So take that at face value.

Also to the devleoper : Add pink slip racing and a local paper with spare parts for sale. This game rocks.

Ok, so its not perfect. There are visual overloads with glare and reflections, hitboxes/collision shapes arent always matching the models used. the dismount of some dinos can be savage on the knees, and sometimes the game will load as a stuttery mess. *which can be fixed by restarting it or your machine*

But.

It looks amazing. Its the most lush, alive environment of any game on the market at the time of writing (Speaking about the island or the center, the scorched earth map is an exercise in self hate and instadeath and is really only for masochists who are in a particularly hateful mood )

The dino's are beautiful, of course mostly fantastical ( I refer to the Argentavis here, my favourite mount, that plain never existed) but there are some of the cinema favourites in there is very faithful detail. Oh and they are releasing more and more dinos every other week.

Its great with mates and you can make new mates in it. solo is a hard road but yeah, its just a hard road and takes a long time to do anything, but of course is possible.

To the nae sayers. This game runs fine. If you chuck everything on epic settings and dont have the matching epic machine, yeah, you're gonna have a bad time. I run mine on high and its glorious ( 3 y/o i7 with a 1070 added recently). Stop ragging on the devs for adding content. if theyb focussed on solely fixing bugs ( which they also fix btw ) you'd ♥♥♥♥♥ about them never adding content.

To everyone else : If you like survival, and have a decent rig, get this game, you need it.

First 16 or so spawns were infront of wolves, sabres, scorpions and whatever the wasp things are.

Wicked cute fennec fox/wallaby hybrids, utterly unfair environment.

REALLY COOL.

if you enjoy the automation stuff in ftp or tekkit, or do well at spacechem (reaching, this isnt as mind numbingly difficult so far) you will like this. Its like aoe but as a machinefest. and its just so much fun.

Fantastic. Sometimes you redo a level over 20 times because you died, other times you redo a level over 20 times because you think you can make it look cooler. either way, replay value : check. Some really nice interface stuff too. very retro.

Magnificent.

Must point out that the forums are full of complaints, its a saturation of hate, with only the odd nice thing to say. This is mainly due to the fact that everyone else is in game, loving what is imho the best game in the genre.

The new grapples and wingsuit take some getting used to, but this game has so much awesome. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ need not apply. Running flawlessly on gtx 770 at 1080p on v-high. Beautiful, fully deserves its awards. Fallout 4 can suck a fat one.

Very cool. Its remarkably close to scuba diving, the depth light tendrils are there, the water distortion is right, the kelp forrests. Its about as close to real diving as many people will ever get.

Fully recommend this game. Theres a lot to do and with the procedural weapons and mods you have a multitude of options available to really customise your soldiers. You play a pilot of an advanced battlesuit that comes in 11 different forms. You level up as you would with most questing games, but you level only the machine you are running with at the time. There is a large research tree and each battlesuit (they call them frames) has a selection of specialised weapons and a secondary generic weapon set that is shared across all frames.

You have jumpjets and a built in glider (which currently requires launching off a specific "pad") and can glide silently for a fair distance. There are vehicles, and at the moment you can also get a quad buggy thing if you get the deluxe set (its great as you and a friend can travel on the same vehicle, the other rides are all single seat bikes).

The visuals are top notch, the effects quite dazzling and the world you play in is fantastic. Even playing as a free player you can unlock everything, and its not a rediculous ratio that some freemium games offer, this game is achievable and almost balanced between pay and no pay. most of the stuff you pay for is cosmetic and convenience. Everyone still starts at level 1.

Cant create an account or login. Of course, steam doesnt know this and treats the launcher as the gam is played so refund gone.

Fantastic return to the days when fps was actually fun.

This game is epic. Fantastic graphics and set pieces, some decent voice acting, brilliant writing, and some genuine lols (brrrm brrrm honk...)

Well worth the money, even when I've got watchdogs unlocking in 2 days. This game is a gem.

Oh yeah, gory as f**k. I mean harcore gore, blowing heads and limbs off etc, not to mention the creepy nazi experiment stuff.
