Mechanically, there is not much to add to the other reviews. What I want to add is how despite some of the mechanical weaknesses, and in part because of the strength of the writing, the sheer experience of playing through an entire childhood was extremely moving to me. Even the predictable decisions tugged at my heartstrings, and I genuinely cared about my characters relationships with the other characters. But more than anything else, I got invested in the happiness of *me*, for lack of a better word. I wanted desperately for my life to turn out well. I feel that, above all, is the unique achievement of Growing Up.
