Chill vibe action adventure game. Approachable. Puzzles aren't incredibly tough but dungeons are still fun. On normal difficulty, combat is not too challenging but non-trivial if you wander into an area you're not geared up for yet. Given a choice between paths to an objective with each having a fight, I'd go back and do the other one, too, because I enjoyed the combat but also didn't find it draining of resources. I'm doing new game+ now and upped the combat difficulty setting and it's much more challenging, which is also nice.

Mixed feelings about the time management mechanic, with days divided into one part for dungeons and one part for pursuing character relationships. On the one hand, it makes it easier to divide the game up into smaller chunks of playtime, which is nice if you don't necessarily have time to sit down and play indefinitely. On the other, I'm not personally really into having to pick and choose which relationships to develop and having to either leave some behind or else ignore the sense of urgency the plot tried to engender and just "waste" the afternoon dungeoneering periods after exhausting the dungeons and optional scenic spots. I'm interested in most of the characters and what they have going on. I suppose I just wish I'd delayed less on the first run and left more of them for the second playthrough on new game+.

Also, it seems like the game just kind of lies to you about being able to speed up relationship development through gift giving, etc? That's... Just kind of weird.

Overall, I enjoyed it and I may not finish the whole new game+ run but I'm going to probably at least go through until I finish the remaining character relationships.

Interesting puzzle game, with a somewhat interesting if sort of thin narrative underlying. The logic seems to be pretty consistent. Enjoyed it a lot.

Stealth sections are kind of annoying. I don't generally think games that don't focus on stealth benefit from having stealth sections and this game did not change my mind. The failure state is forgiving enough that it's not a major hindrance, though.

Soft do-not-recommend.

Kind of an unsatisfying time sink ultimately. A lot of items don't really have much of a point. Not great conveyance for a lot of things. Doesn't seem to be possible (or just not really explained in the game?) to set up efficient production chains that don't get overloaded or produce the wrong thing.

Remarkably chill for a game of eldritch horror. I guess that's the fishing element.

Early Access Review
It's been updated weekly during the early access. Every week, I log in to continue my Sisyphean task of chasing all the cheevos. People who do that should be tormented for eternity so this seems appropriate.

I don't think I'd call it a "hardcore restaurant sim". It's maybe more like Warioware but with a lot of time management stuff and some menu and equipment management around it. It's cute and fun to play, and according to my husband surprisingly fun to watch someone play. Also, I find the opening theme oddly fascinating.
