An old gem with interesting combat that rewards creativity and using the environment. It's far from perfect (you can definitely see its age), but it was a fun adventure overall. A modern take on this kind of game could work a lot better, and would be very cool to see.

Early Access Review
Absolutely spectacular PvE sandbox survival, with naturally tiered progression unlocked through defeating bosses. Looks beautiful for how deceptively simple the graphics seem.
The terrain shaping and base building is superb. The game naturally encourages you to make your home more comfortable, granting you a rested bonus for relaxing in shelter for a while that increases in duration the more luxurious it is. I've never seen a sandbox game that gives a practical reason for decoration, but Valheim does it so well.
Combat is simple but fun, and the game overall can be challenging if you're unprepared. Best played with friends.

First game on steam I've put 1000 hours into, apparently. The most fun I've had with a survival sandbox because while the PvP is great, it has VERY strong PvE, making it feel like a dark fantasy RPG on top of it. Super fun with friends, to the point where we've even hosted a server.

The combat is fantastic, the music is great, the environments are beautiful, and the game is chock full of all sorts of fun mechanics for survival, construction, and adventure. The story and lore is very respectful of the original Conan works, and it does a great job of selling the brutality of the world you're in.

The combat is some of the best third-person melee combat I've seen, with every single weapon type having vastly different movesets from one another, allowing all sorts of styles of play.

The crafting and building is super fun, letting players make some pretty amazing and beautiful builds.

One of the best things about the game though, in my opinion, is the progression. For many survival games, the early game can be kind of weak and boring, but Conan's early game is SO much fun, making the whole journey from nothing to endgame a blast. We never have a problem starting a new playthrough if we want to, because we enjoy the progression of it so much. Even the map is intelligently designed to get progressively harder the further north you go, leading you to progress by gradually travelling further and further from where the game began.

I will say there's some jankiness to it, especially online, so just be aware of that, but it's never been game-ruining for me, and it's a lot better now than it used to be.

Surprised I didn't write this sooner.

I've been following this game's production since its inception, and what it became is absolutely stellar for such a small, passionate team. My steam playtime is deceptive - I've put quite a few more hours into the alpha and beta.

The style is cool, the combat is slick, the music absolutely bangs, and the story is surprisingly deep. It's an absolute blast to play if you like challenging combat, and the action blends with stealth in very unique and satisfying ways.
-The fighting animations and finishers make combat extremely satisfying
-Stealth is more used to get an advantage in combat - ambushing more often than avoiding altogether.
-The gear system is fun, allowing you to scavenge and upgrade pieces of armor that offer a wide range of unique effects for all sorts of styles of play.
-The level design is intelligently done, each floor changing slightly with each run and offering different obstacles requiring clever use of gadgets.
-The boss fights are excellent, unique and challenging in ways that keep you believing that they are beatable, rather than being frustrating.
-There's very nice environmental storytelling if you pay attention, as well as some interesting lore tidbits to find here and there.
-The ending is VERY cool.

I cannot recommend it enough.

Genuinely probably my favorite game to come out in years. Loved the first game, and was hyped for this, and it managed to go above and beyond what I expected. So many amazing details make it such a thrilling and enjoyable experience.

If you have trouble getting in, it's because the game is so good they overloaded the servers. Be patient!

To get the technical issues out of the way, I heard it had a really rough launch, so I didn't start playing until a few weeks after I got it. Then, I ran into an issue that prevented me from one of the side mechanics of the game, so I took a break. Now, though, the game is in a much more stable state, so I can definitely recommend it.

I 100%ed the first game because I loved it so much, did the same here because I loved it even more.

They not only expanded on everything that was great about the first game, but added SO MUCH more. I was amazed at how big the game kept getting, between locations, enemies, types of collectibles, character stories and lore, side quests, even a pretty fun mini-game. I called the previous game an "almost souls-like metroidvania", and while those elements are still there, it's evolved into much more.

I absolutely love a game that has a hub that you build and collect things in over time, and this game is such a good example of it.

But most importantly, the combat is fantastic as ever. There are even more fighting styles than the first and multiple skill trees that really let you focus on a playstyle that's best for you. They all play very differently from each other, but they're all viable and fun.

The customization also needs to be mentioned, because the first game was pretty simple - clothes color, poncho color, droid color, ship color, then customizing your lightsaber was more in-depth. WOW they really kicked it up a notch for this game, the customization is SO much deeper for both your outfit and equipment. It's excellent, and I never see two people with the same customization choices.

And finally, the story. I really liked the first game's story, and this one continues it well and is even improved. I don't want to give too much away, but it has a decent bit of nuance that's usually lacking in Star Wars stuff, and some moments that genuinely had me practically cheering or gasping.

New Game+ looks like it has some fun options. Might do that later.

Solid recommendation. 9.6/10

Shocked I haven't written this review sooner. One of the best co-op action games I've played, and by far the best first-person melee combat I've ever seen. Some of the best combat in general from any game, to be honest.

Combat and Feel
The animations, sound design, and general feel of the combat is incredibly satisfying. Every impact and cleave is sold perfectly, and carving through hordes of foes is extremely fun. Even the ranged combat is good, solid hit registration and aiming. Each character and career gives a different style of play that can then differ further based on weapon preference, all of which are viable and most feel just as great to use, as far as I've seen.

Difficulty and Co-op
There are multiple difficulties, and the higher ones are significantly challenging. I HIGHLY recommend playing with friends, but even just playing with bots can be fun, especially since the AI characters use the gear and skills that you have equipped on them. I've found it's much more preferable to play with friends or with AI than random players, at least queuing solo.

Progression and Gear
The progression is solid, earning a pick of 3 talents every five levels on a character. You can change these talents anytime between missions. You earn stronger gear the more you collect loot from said missions, and there's a crafting system that lets you scrap unwanted gear and forge the kind of gear you want.

Different Gamemodes
Chaos Wastes creates an entire new way to play beyond the campaign and DLCs (all of which are worth it if you love the core game imo). It creates a longer, roguelike journey that adds some unique progression. A ton of fun, and adds even more replayability.

Characters and Writing
The characters themselves are great, too. The dialogue writing is superb, probably some of the best I've seen, and the characters are deceptively well-developed. They have so many interactions that I'm still occasionally hearing new ones even after hundreds of hours.

Performance
The game looks incredible and runs well, even on my older PC. No major issues.

Can't recommend this game enough if you like some brutal melee combat, or just want an intense co-op action experience. Go kill some filthy rat-men!

Call it a beta, but they're charging money for cosmetics with both a battlepass and a shop, so to me, this is Halo Infinite's terrible launch.

The game runs like hot garbage and is nearly impossible to get working.
I am a huge Halo fan and I was very saddened to hear about how terrible the customization is, taking away a basic color palette that has been in every game in exchange for stickers you buy or work for and slap onto your spartan with no identity.
I wanted to give it a fair try anyway, but this is honestly far worse than I feared. The gameplay is fine, but with the terrible customization and its broken state, I'd much rather just play a better, functional Halo.

When they bring it into an actual working state I'll probably play more, but I am FLOORED at how bad this is right now, and their terrible progression/customization system certainly won't be what brings me back.

Didn't expect a somewhat soulslike metroidvania, but was not disappointed.
Loved the story, lots of fun twists that shake up the flow of the game in good ways. Combat is challenging and slick, especially when you unlock fancier maneuvers. Enemies were unique and pretty diverse. Exploration is rewarding and satisfying. As a big fan of the Clone Wars series, I loved seeing how much lore they brought out for this game, too.
Only big issue I had was that it stutters quite a bit during some cutscenes or when a new area is loading in. It can be pretty annoying because the animation and scenes are really good.

A wonderful old-school "choose your own adventure"-style book, well-made into a game format. It has immersing ambience and a simple but clever combat system that plays very nicely into the narrative. Spellcasting is fun and rewards creativity with a surprising amount of avenues for the player to take on any given situation, for the most part.
Part 1 was good and got me hooked, but I thought part 2 was even better, and had SO much more to it. Including a mini-version of liar's dice, which I enjoyed.
If you like some good old-fashioned high fantasy, this was a really fun experience.
