UPDATE (February 18, 2020):
So I decide to try this game once more since I got Twitch Prime and they have loot for Warface...but guess what? Linking Amazon/Twitch Prime does not seem to work with Steam. Oh and by the way, My.Games also tries to hide the Steam login on their site, which gets you to link the account to the wrong account. Contacting support does not work either, as the contact form is broken.

Additionally developer "Jake" in the comments has the audacity to lie to me about weapon balance and cheaters! Just check out his comment below. They say they have zero tolerance on cheaters, but the thing is there are a ton of cheaters. Also the monetization/Pay2Win is only getting worse!

Crappy game, very much a grind though takes forever to get stuff. Newbies will get wrecked by skilled, overpowered equiped verteran players while trying to grind for thier own equipment. The starter servers (level restricted to 1-35) are almost always empty. I played over 10 hours today, and I've only earned 5000 GP. The cheapest weapon is around 16,000 GP, not including the attachements you may need. Also don't forget your armor and other accessories. Basically you'll have to grind everyday you want to play it to get your loadout back. I do not recommend. This game has great potential though, it's got it's own uniqueness not found in other games... just press V. Also the game seems to have network lag issues and poor hit detection. I can shoot someone in the head 10 times and I end up dying while the other guy lives even though their aim wasn't as near as good as mine and they were using a weaker weapon.

The weapons for the most part feel realistic and balanced compared to most games of this type. DMRs are slightly weak but it's much better done in this game than many others. They have a use, they are accurate, good semi auto fire rate, have good range, and decent damage. Assault rifles feel balanced. Snipers also feel balanced as well.

Free from Humble Bundle...

A nice alternative to Battlefield and Call Of Duty with a nice realistic "could happen in the future" theme.

Single Player was short, but fairly intense and engaging. Multiplayer still works, but there's not many people online. Graphics are decent and I was able to run this game on my old laptop from 2012 which only had Intel HD 4400 Graphics (30 fps). Game runs fine on my newer Dell Inspiron 5000 Gaming Laptop with core i7 7700hq and gtx 1050 4gb vram (around 60 fps max settings). As for the microtransactions, well as this is an older game it doesn't ♥♥♥♥ your wallet. I would buy this game at full price if I had to, but sales are always appreciated. Your tastes for games may vary though, so decide for yourself whether or not you want to buy this or not.

It kinda like Battlefield but without EAvil EA! ...and multiplayer of course.

The modding community is awesome, there's plenty of content making this game have unlimited replayability.

It runs well on potatoes. Core i3 4030U 1.9Ghz Dual Core, 6 GB RAM, Intel HD 4400 Graphics, and a 480 GB SSD can reach 60 FPS.

Really the only thing that's missing is higher quality graphics (oh well, this is low poly and it still looks nice), and oh did I forget to mention *Multiplayer*? That besides the point, the single player is really awesome and you got to play this game really to know what it's like... it got some easter eggs that are hillarious if you find them.

EDIT 2: This game sucks, but at least there are other better games that don't even have microtransactions that are also FREE!

EDIT: Valofe bought Black Squad and then ruined it. 0/5 Don't recommend. At least it's still better than Ironsight, less P2W.

I've been playing this game for a few years now, and it's pretty good.

The playerbase and servers might be lacking in your region though (I'm in NA region so matches are longer to find). Occasionally lags and stutters (not a hardware performance issue but a bug), but plays fine overall. It's not perfect but it's still very fun to play casually. The recent P2W mechanics have been backed off a bit after some backlash, which is good. There are hackers, but as with any free to play title there are usually more hackers because the hackers don't lose money if they get banned (given if they haven't bought anything).

I would highly recommend this game, especially since it's free and new players get a generous starting package. Many other games make you grind for every little thing (for example Ironsight doesn't give you enough money for a new gun and attachments, which every veteran you play against will most likely be using as Ironsight does not have fair matchmaking). Black Squad's guns already come with attachments which can't be changed (which works out well as you get more stuff without grinding for hours.) Black Squad gives you enough starter currency to buy at least one more gun so you can start out with multiple loadouts tuned for your playstyle and combat situation.

The G28E is no longer so OP, as it's now like the MK11 except it has 2 zoom settings.

Weapons seem pretty decent right now and a new players shouldn't have any problems with some of the credit weapons. My suggestions for starter guns are described below, and for some weapons I include a suggested Medals gun upgrade. You get enough currency to buy at least 1 weapon. I would suggest getting the SCAR H or a sniper over an AR as you get an AR at the start. I would not suggest shotguns and SMGs as they are less versatile because of their close range only nature. LMGs are very inaccurate, so not recommended either.

G36 is a really good and well rounded AR and is better than the S15 (so new players don't have a disadvantage). Comes with a grenade launcher and 30 round magazines, or a variant without a GL and 40 round magazines.
Suggested Medals Upgrade: M4. However you lose the Red Dot Sight which is the best optics in the game for ARs, so it may be more of a sidegrade although stats say M4 is better. Or AK74, slightly weaker than M4 but gives you RDS so it's a direct upgrade.

ARX is good if you want a super accurate laser type AR with minimal recoil, but don't mind sacrificing damage. Comes with a grenade launcher and 30 round magazines, or a variant without a GL and 40 round magazines.

HK17 is just ok imho. If you want a high caliber AR, you be better off just getting the SCAR H DMR. Comes with a grenade launcher and 30 round magazines, or a variant without a GL and 40 round magazines.
Suggested Medals Upgrade: SR47. You get a RDS instead of a holosight, which is better so it's a direct upgrade. CZ BREN is newer and even better, still has RDS.


SCAR H if you want something more versatile for short and long distance targets and don't mind losing the grenade launcher (which isn't that great imho, but gives you free permanent although weak grenades). DMRs in Black Sqaud are fully automatic and take around 3 chest shots to kill or 1 headshot. They are also very accurate when tap fired.
Suggested Medals Upgrade: MK14 fires a bit slower, but kill with one headshot while using silencer. Essentially a direct upgrade as SCAR H cannot one headshot kill with silencer.

Blaser is a good credit sniper with one hit kill capability as long as you headshot or have a slightly injured enemy. Bolt action so every hit must count. Cannot be hipfired easily.
Suggested Medals Upgrade: Barrett. A bit slower, but 100% one hit kills to head or chest. Essentially a direct upgrade as Barrett is the most reliable 1 hit sniper.


Dragunov is good sniper if you want something a bit faster than Blaser but still keep a somewhat high probability on a 1 hit kill even on the chest although it will happen less often as it has slighly less damage than the Blaser. Slow semi automatic is more forgiving for less accurate players. Cannot be hipfired easily.
Suggested Medals Upgrade: G28E. It's not exactly a direct upgrade from this weapon though as it's weaker but faster firing. This would be a sidegrade, and you may still like the Dragunov.


MK11 is good if you want to quickly and aggressively snipe, particularly in shorter distances where time is more crucial. Fast semi automatic is very spammable in very close quarters in a panic (anything beyond that will miss). You'll find much more often you need two shots to the chest to kill. It can still be used long range however and kill with 1 headshot. It does quite a bit less damage than the Dragunov, but more than the SCAR H.
Suggested Medals Upgrade: G28E. You gain an extra zoom level, which improves extreme long distance usability. Essentially a direct upgrade as extra zoom is great.

Bugs and Crashes Galore!

Update: Restart Steam and it may fix the issues. Game is wonderful! Good gameplay, nice characters, and as of now it doesn't feel Pay2Win. I would recommend this game if you can't buy Overwatch.

UPDATE FOR EARLY 2023: This game is still ♥♥♥♥. It now has bots, so it might seem like it's not so "dead" ...but the cheaters and pay to win are still a huge problem. The bots themselves come in two varieties it seems... they're either idiots or aimbots. Not much has changed other than more bugs have been added along with more pay to win weapons in lootboxes too!

UPDATE FOR 08-17-2020: They added lootboxes to the shop with gameplay affecting items, further increasing the pay to win aspects, despite originally promising the game would not have lootboxes or other microtransactions.

UPDATE AS OF 04-12-2020: The game has low quality US servers now and the netcode has improved, but it's still trash and you'll still lag.

As for progression, Hired Ops is still a definite P2W game. You can buy boosters for credits and XP to level up faster, credits to then unlock guns, and a premium subscription which allows you to do multiple contracts at once which give rewards. Rewards can include lootboxes which do contain gameplay affecting items; such as scopes for example, which increase accuracy and reduce recoil while enabling you to see across the map.

Some contracts also have levels, for example Kiba Arms when leveled up can grant you the HK417 which is the most powerful assault rifle in the game! It can deal 3 hit kills to the body even around 100m which is not possible with most other rifles, especially the starting weapon M4A1 which struggle to do 5 hit kills at 65 m. As for most of the maps, they are larger so having longer ranged weapons with optics is a significant advantage. This game is not like COD where you can brainlessly run and gun.

Another thing, the first sniper you get can't even kill with one body shot, which means even with good aim you'll have lower TTK because you must take a second shot. The only way you get one hit body kills with it is if the enemy is already hurt, or get a headshot.

The matchmaking system sucks as it's quite obvious that it's rigged and places lower level players who are restricted from using better guns against veterans that have better guns. This is in hope of forcing the new player to pay for boosters and a subscription so they can unlock better gear faster. With that said, they failed long before they created this problem. They did not advertise the game and bring in many players, so they don't have a pool of players to matchmake with. Still that does not change the fact they are rigging matchmaking in the first place.

I still highly recommend that you don't download this game. It's a waste of time and bandwidth, and a waste of money if you bought anything.

I'm one of the early supporters of this game, but I must say that this game has very bad developers and moderators:
- who break promises
- and have a history of breaking the law
- in addition to being greedy (they're the makers of Contract Wars, which had very pay to win microtransactions)

Not only that but Absoultsoft's sister company Battlestate Games has continued to ♥♥♥♥ over their customers yet again!

This game seems to only have Russian servers, so North American player will lag.

Also the groundwork is laid to become even more pay to win than Contract Wars. Levels lock access to weapons, but weapons still have to be bought! Oh and the levels are per class, so unlocking say for example the USP pistol in one class doesn't make it available in another class. Be prepared to grind forever.

Matchmaking is completely non existent, new players get ♥♥♥♥ guns but also have to play against veterans. Veterans have better weapons, and will kill you at your spawn with them.

Oh and for the last bullet in your skull, this game includes EA's "Surprise Mechanics!"
Lootboxes may contain items that are not just cosmetic! So enjoy gambling to win! :(

The game also runs like ♥♥♥♥. Core i7 and a dedicated GPU does not mean you'll get good performance.
