Great game that is easy to mod. Performs surprisingly well, even on older hardware (i7 4790K @ 4.6GHz & GTX 1070). Expect lag spikes when destroying a lot of things at once.

171 GB (!) of denuvo-laced mediocrity.
- Bullet sponge enemies
- Headshots don't reliably kill
- Obvious clipping when increasing the FOV, and riding a horse locks your FOV to default
- Horses move too fast when you're trying to go slowly, and too slowly when you're trying to go fast
- The game is laughably easy even on the "Guerilla" difficulty level

I had no issues launching the game but frankly I wish that I did, because fixing that would've been more engaging than playing the game.

Microsoft made things much more complicated than they had to be; I assume because their company philosophy of treating their customers like raging chimpanzees precludes the concept of modding.

Other than that, things are pretty great. SSE is a solid improvement over the legendary edition, but that doesn't excuse compiling it in a newer version of VS for 64-bit and charging full price.

RNG != DIFFICULTY

Updated review to negative as the balance was ruined in the Halloween update.

The devs keep making it harder to actually hide from the ghost, and now the only survival strategies that don't rely on luck on harder difficulties are:
- Exploit a bug with doors.
- Exploit a bug with AI pathing.

Ever since playing Ghost Hunters Corp I can't take phasmophobia's mechanics seriously, and Ghost Hunters Corp is barely playable!

Good game, with one glaring flaw:

The lack of an FOV slider or even option in an ini file.

The devs claim it's part of the game design, and while undeniably true that the FOV in this game is directly linked to game balance, it is still a single player game and should allow players the option!
Especially when that FOV can easily cause motion sickness for some, and for others (like me) a headache.
Still a great game, especially since it was given for free to anyone who owned superhot!
But srsly, needs an fov option

If you're looking for a simulator that shows each individual component of a gun and how it works, look elsewhere unless you're prepared to bash your head against the god awful UI that wouldn't even be passable in the early 2000s and don't mind hitting a paywall every minute.

If you're looking for an exploitative dev who is completely incompetent and ports mobile games to steam while shamelessly using premium currency & unskippable "tutorials" to make as much money as possible, look no further!
In fact, this game is so impressively shameless that it will wipe your steam achievements if you don't play it constantly!
Honestly didn't even know that was possible, even devs from the greenlight days didn't stoop that low.
And to top it all off, the $55 "full access" pass doesn't include any of the DLCs, so you have to buy it as well as all of the DLCs just to use it.

With the most recent update, technicals were added back to Co-op!

Performance issues have finally been patched out and the game runs at a solid 73FPS at all times. (GTX 1070, G-Sync)
If you're still having performance issues after the recent updates, try running the game in DX12 by putting "-dx12" in your launch parameters, and turning up your graphics settings.
