What is there to say here? It has everything I liked about Harvest Moon when I was younger, and more, and better executed as well. Add in the high degree of modding support and it makes for a wonderful, relaxed, and highly variable experience. Over 100 hours of playtime and there's so much I've never seen or done because I'm easily distracted.

Certainly not a new game, and the developers' have drawn their fair share of criticism and made some poor choices. Nevertheless, this remains a fairly solid title on PC, especially with one or two friends to work with.

I had some initial issues with the game locking up when trying to join or host a multiplayer sessions, but a full reinstall seems to have fixed it when verifying the files did not.

Gameplay-wise imagine taking Minecraft and seperating each biome with a portal and a loading screen. You can use the map to fast travel to any island you've unlocked, so getting around isn't that hard and the game will tell you which resources are available at the node so you don't have a spend a lot of time jumping around looking for "that one that had emeralds in it."

Initially the tutorial seemed somewhat rough. It asked me to craft some blue portal blocks without really explaining how and in a different quantity than you need to complete the next task. It also expects you to stumble onto the other tutorials as you go. If you focus on the portal one you may well miss some of the others.

I'm not sure how I feel the three classes available yet, I've spent more time with the ranger than I have the other two. The warrior can have issues with flying/floating creatures it seems. I had difficulty hitting them.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews about it's somewhat repetitive gameplay loop, which seems to be fairly accurate, though I haven't got so far as to try any of the bosses yet.

This game might be good for people who are more into puzzle games than I am.

It plays a bit slow for my tastes and has a great deal of complexity that doesn't always seem well explained.

5/7 Family history simulator.
