My review and analysis of this game is too long for this box.

Read it on my Substack - https://qorachius.substack.com/p/cyberpunk2077

TLDR: I played as Arasaka loyalist, hated Johnny, and got the imperfect version of the Moon/Devil ending.

Despite all the rage from most of gaming sites, mainstream and niche alike, I'd say that this game is only suitable for two types of gamers. First, for those who are after entertaining combat system. Second, for those craving Jim Carrey style of comedy.

Personally, I found all the jokes and tone extremely irritating and annoying. I need a sense of story progression in a RPG, and here it is basically destroyed by this tone. I cannot care what happens in the world where characters are not serious, and thus I'm relegated to trying to enjoy just the mechanics of game. If this is what they call fun, I dont want any fun in my games.

As for turn based combat, I concede that its somewhat innovative, yet I'd rather play XCOM if I want such type of entertainment. And I dont play XCOM that often, so...

Verdict: 6/10
Overhyped product, targeted exclusively at sanguine types. Dont buy it if your're looking for a lore-rich experience.

I was pleasantly surprised by this game. It has immense, richly developed lore. Every last God-forgotten potion, or minor item, has imaginative description, just like in Baldurs Gate. Dialogues are good and non-lianear, you can side with or against many NPCs, you can choose to befriend them, torch them in a Holy Flame or let them loose. General mood and gameplay are close to Diablo 1, very dark and intriguing. So, my concusion is that this is not some cheap attempt at depth, as it may seem simply because this game is being sold at 80 percent off very often. This is actually a finely crafred RPG, which may appeal to both BG and Diablo camps of gamers.

EDIT: This game is my nomination for first Steam Awards in category Best Unknown Game. And in 2017 I nominate it again in Better than Expected category.

In comparison with Baldurs Gate 2 this game has :

+Better graphics
+Potential of continuous support with expansions, patches and DLCs

-Worse, less developed setting. Too much stuff is centered around souls, not enough creature/culture variety.
-Worse companions. All of them seem to care about society too much, no evil egoist companions available yet. So no buddies for cruel, power-hungry PC. No romances either, all female companions are either ugly, feminist or both.
-Worse combat. Wizards are weak, you need at least 2 frontliners and one decent archer\musketeer. In BG2 you could have one frontliner and a bunch of casters. Not enough spell battles, enemy casters are rare and not using defensive spells.
-Game forces modern leftist values on you. In a number of quests you cannot side or sympathize with your fellow nobles, even if youre of noble origin.

In its current state I'm rather dissapointed in this game, even though this is my favorite genre. Its good for what it is of course, and worth playing. Just not enough options for roleplaying my favorite role models. Still hope for expansions though.

This game killed my motherboard. Google it, and you will discover that its common enough issue. Too bad I googled after, not before. So, if your motherboard in older than 3 years, it might be dangerous to play this game. And if you do play, stop after single event of BSOD or sudden loss of image on display. I didnt stop after 2 such events, and after 3rd it was finita - I wasnt able to boot, motherboard stopped beeping and I had to upgrade system in the middle of current war in Ukraine. Not a funny thing to do, considering I might need those money soon to get out of here, in case Putin decides to conquer my region.

Very cool game in the vein of Papers,Please. In many aspects even better, except for the story maybe. Gameplay makes up for it though - more engaging and entertaining. If you always dreamed about a job in fast food restaurant but life took you elsewhere, this is your chance!

This has always been my favorite game of all time by a long, long shot. There's a Pacific Ocean of distance between this game and my №2. I've replayed this about 6 times already, doing every possible quest in each playthrough, and will be replaying it at least once every two years. No other RPG to this date created this level of interactivity, immersion and replayability. Worth about 10x Witchers, 5x Skyrims and 3x Mass Effects to me.

Achievements this game made:
1.Moved GTA-like game out of USA(finally).
2.Managed to create believable mature story.
3.Graphics are decent, soundtrack is very nice(especially Softly radio station, with local flavor).

Decent from start to finish, pick this up while waiting for GTA 5 port, if you have'nt already.

Unless you hate fighting genre for some reason, you cant skip this game. Its one of the best in the genre, if not the best ever. Franchise finally returned to PC after 16 years of absence(previous official MK on PC was MK4 in 1997). And while I like the feel, style and tone of MK2 more(it will always be in my TOP5 games ever), in terms of gameplay this game is the new heights for the series.

Its the best TBS/RTS hybrid as of July 2013. Its has nicely drawn art, good gameplay balance, and level of immersion that makes you think you're literally in medieval Japan. So far its my most played game on Steam(over 150 hours), and I haven't even played half of its clans yet, and only barely touched multiplayer, this says much about replayability.
