Another great entry from the Trine series, with the usual puzzling, platform and light combat you've come to expect.
I felt like the combat got very samey and was far too reliant on Pontius and Zoya.
The puzzles were great - some did get quite complex and required a guide to get through, especially one section where a new element was introduced and not quite explained. Although quite often, the solution was simpler than you thought!
Slightly disappointed with the end boss, who was quite easy to kill, especially given the ability to resurrect characters during combat. I would have liked for him to not just be a combat boss.

Overall, a great fourth installment - looking forward to the fifth!

If you've played Trine 1 & 2 (and if you haven't, you should) then you know what to expect.... Although that's not quite what you get!
The core of the game is still the same, but now in glorious 2.5D, which allows for some lovely levels and some neat hidden areas.
The gameplay remains the same - swap between archer, mage and knight to beat baddies and do some light physics-based puzzling. However, the game has removed the "RPG-lite" element of the previous game - there's no new abilities learnt as you progress.
This means that the difficulty remains constant as you progress - there are "optional" shorter areas to complete, but you'll probably need to clear these to collect enough tokens to unlock the later stages (assuming you don't slavishly track down every token as you go through the main levels). Some of the main levels also have branching paths, so you may want/need to replay them to collect 100% of the tokens.

And that's about it! The game is very short - I finished it in just under 5 1/2 hours with only a couple of headscratching moments. With no new abilities, the game would have got very stale if it was much longer, so brevity is a virtue here.

I'd definitely recommend it to Trine fans as a quick afternoon's amusement, but don't expect a sprawling game!
