Awesome game, really pulls the 2D elements from the original game into 3D extremely well.

An amazing roguelike platformer with tons of depth in its mechanics. Very much a coffebreak game where a run can last as long as it takes to get through a large drink. Easy to learn and hard to master has never been more frustratingly fun. The weekly streams on Twitch are a great way to see how devleopment is going too!

Things you can do:
- Go shock fishing
- Make soup
- Lure enemies of your enemies into your enemies
- Fight death itself, or die trying
- Farm for mushshrooms

This is the first game I've seen pull off a first-person perspective roguelike. While there may be a few mechanics that could be tweaked, the overall gameplay encourages what one would expect from games like Legend of Dungeon, Brogue, and the Mystery Dungeon games in the way of exploration, thinking ahead, and subtleties of broad mechanics. You may die a lot, but each run brings a new understanding of the game.

Pros:
  • The art style has yet to get old
  • Simple but deep combat mechanics
  • Actually feels like a roguelike
Cons:
  • Chunky animations
  • Sometimes really slow going
  • Difficulty scales considerably higher after level 4
