Lots of fun. Recommended. Be patient - it takes a bit to learn. I've never played DCS and last time I was flying was Battlefield 1942 with the Desert Combat mod but I did spend a lot of time there. Glorious days. This is more of a sim. I haven't tried multiplayer yet, but looking forward to it.

- >>> This game has a quicksave! <<< It's 10x more fun with it rather than restarting from the beginning 10 times.
- "Why doesn't my missile shoot when I pull the trigger?" - yeah, me too. The tutorials are quite impressive really but I wish they explained locking on a bit more and had a "what did you just say, that sounded important" button.
- The flares/chaff button is on the throttle (yes there's on/off CMS switches but it's not automatic). Was stuck on "The Island: Mission 4 - Open Water" until a friend told me. Also this is the mission that unlocks guided missiles (e.g. AGM-65) so you're stuck with rockets and TGP "PIP".
- Browse the fandom vtol vr wiki for tips when you get stuck. I found experimenting fun too though.

Early Access Review
*early access*, really didn't give this game a chance sorry

- Can't set a 4k resolution
- Can't turn off head bob and 3rd person shoulder view is uncomfortable
- Must be some mouse lag or smoothing going on

This is the unreal engine so these features should exist out of the box

some very cool ideas and fun puzzles. I enjoyed the beginning, middle, not so much the end (just lots of running and finding the way without new/different puzzles). Took about 2.5 hours. One super frustrating bit running down an infinite corridor with left/right turns and no obvious cause/effect relation.

Pretty similar to DOOM but with More upgrades and cutscenes. All very nicely polished. Fun to get if it's on sale.

I wish there were less upgrades/perks/runes/collectables. Lots of different upgrade screens. Feature creep that should not have made it in (IMHO). The worst bit is everything needs a tutorial, which happens frequently and breaks the flow of the game.

Afterthought: FFS, nobody likes jumping puzzles. Adding a double dash recharge "canister" is just dumb.

so when you load a game you have to remember to re-check enable checkpoints, otherwise you waste your entire night 👎

Short and good. Fun puzzle mechanics. Not too tricky. Nice art and VR environments. Definitely worth getting!

Played this game a few times after coming from Phasmophobia. It's got good potential, but IMO lacks polish and a balanced progression (spending the time writing this because the ideas here are cool). Moreover, new features keep being added that make the game more complicated without focusing on making the basics good.

The learning curve starts with a brick wall.
1. You explore a tomb and gather evidence for which ghost/Mejai type it is. Fairly straight forward. Fewer ghost types but much more evidence than Phasmophobia.
2. You enter your guess, get locked in the tomb and an unkillable monster is summed.
3. The whole team is killed. You lose. There is no running, sneaking, hiding, distracting, kiting. You just die.
Nearly every time, until we found a glitch - you can respawn as a mummy and distract the monster by opening/closing a coffin continuously while the remaining player(s) finishes the objectives.
* You're meant to find a blue button that spawns randomly and press it to unlock the entrance, but it can be anywhere. Presumably if we figured out how to do this well the game would just be easy.

Nitpicking: UI and controls aren't that intuitive, e.g. you have to have the write item in your hand at the time to place it in the truck; there are multiple kinds of relics you find along the way and only one works for the truck; took a while to figure out you leave by closing the rear door; the controls for the map need updating; we had to google to figure out the red levers need pulling at the exact same time.

This is a fun coop game. Good level design, some good stealth puzzle elements, plenty of cringing dialogue. Definitely worth grabbing.
