I want you to know, EnDrew, I love this game. I've played a bit, kept close tabs since, and you are a literal horror genius. That being said, I myself am awful at horror games, and too spooked to play alone anymore. I built three walls inside a singular doorway to keep a chainsaw dude out and I was never the same.
But I see you.
I appreciate you.
One day, I'll play your game.

Just know, I'm very impressed.

I'm biased, bc I'm a fan of most sim games already, but...
this game is way too fun. And I see a lot of people using the pokemon mod, which is neat, but honestly I like the og designs. How much effort they put into their own designs is already super impressive, and the designs aren't half-assed.

I regrettably can't play on my Steam Deck, only bc too many buttons for it to be mapped (or at least, I haven't found a working layout yet, I tried), and I hate my pc chair since my back sucks, so I haven't visited my actual pc to play it yet. However, the humor of the devs alone was worth me investing in this game. Their update logs give me chuckles so I don't regret buying, even if I were to never play it. Although, it looks fun af, so maybe someday. Just hoping they invent bionic spine enhancements soon so I can sit comfortably at my pc, nbd.

I have waited my entire life for a game that matched the aesthetics of my favorite art style, Paper Mario.

Plus it's fun, death cakes, and malaria. I'm in love.

I honestly didn't expect much, because I'm used to buying sim games I've never heard of and hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. But this one is actually REALLY solid. I haven't gotten super far yet, so Idk how extensive the game is, or how much there is to do, but I'm hoping that if some of the other buildings around the map aren't usable yet, they plan on adding them in the future. I'd compare it to House Flipper, which is tbh one of my all-time fave games, and although the two have obvious differences, I think it's shaping up to compete with HF. I hope I don't have to move out of my utopia RV though, because I have packed that baby full and I'm sure the neighbors wonder why there are so many lights coming from next door. It's a show of dominance.

I am having a BLAST. My fave game of all time is Rimworld, and this gives that special Rimvibe without cloning it/Dwarf Fortress/etc. It's cute, has been making me giggle (the first elder, especially), and to have just a one-person team making such a fresh, fun game sends this skyrocketing on my list. I'm excited to see more from Michele.

I'm having a blast! Tons more furniture than I expected (lack-thereof is a common issue, in this genre), and pleasing art style/visuals! I'm playing on a Steam Deck, and it *did* start crashing around 9 hours in for some reason (dunno if there was an update or what), but I started running it on Proton (Experimental) and it seems to have fixed it. :)

Perfection. Well, almost, but devs are addressing the main complaints, like no curtains. I see they changed the flashlight in this one to not resemble the lawnmower scene from Sinister so much, super happy about that. I'd literally give half my lifespan for that prize pc they're offering, as I build dollhouses and dollhouse furniture and I cried when I saw it. HF1 is one of my favorite games and they've somehow outdone themselves (and we have a duplicate/eyedropper tool!!!). I'm excited for new additions to it, ofc, but it's already so solid. I myself haven't run into any bugs yet, and I'm on Steam Deck. Which, is another thing: normally I have to sacrifice graphics quality to get decent performance on my Deck, but even on medium, this game looks great and still runs perfectly. Very satisfied, was well-worth the wait. At least one ray of hope going into this new, somehow-already-cruddy year. Keep it up, devs! For like, ever. Pls.
