Berke "Pumpiecana" Dönbak tragically died at the age of 20 in his hometown Kahramanmaraş, during the massive earthquake on the 27th of February 2023. He got stuck under rubble at around 04:00 and managed to hold onto life for about 24 hours before his heart stopped at the hospital. He is buried in Adana. He was the closest friend I had at university and I had played videogames with him every day after the semester ended including the day he passed away. I, along with other friends from university, was devastated by the news. Most of us experienced the loss of someone actively involved in our lives for the first time. A framed picture of him is hanged on the wall at the department of English Translation and Interpreting at Hacettepe university, from which he would have graduated in 2024. Rest in peace Berke. I love you.
