Early Access Review
It's pretty much Warband with better graphics but without the huge library of mods. The devs are pushing out updates regularly though.

If you're a huge fan, pick it up and become the Emperor of Bugradia.

Otherwise, wait a few months till the bugs and features are properly ironed out.

-Summary at the bottom-

Buggy, unresponsive customer care and what not.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare looks to be an appealing game from the start. With hilarious ragdoll physics and decapitations that sends you laughing off your seats. However, the game begins to fall apart once you spend some time alone in this game.

THE GAME: The game seems to be have problems with NVIDIA video card users. The framerate absurdly drops to 10fps even on a gaming computer which can run graphic demanding games such as Battlefield 4. I guess I don't have to explain why this is a problem...

UNRESPONSIVE CUSTOMER CARE: Maybe it's because Torn Banners Studios is a fairly new and small team. But even so, it doesn't give them the rights to not reply to a customer's questions. After months of sending in my queries, no replies were received. It seems like they have thrown my message into the junk folder as if it was nothing.

OFFLINE PLAY:
HORRENDOUS AI: Offline play is severely limited. The bots have only one difficulty level and is far too easy. The bots rarely feel threatened by their surroundings and only once or twice showed signs of an intelligent AI. You'll find yourself slashing your way through the enemy lines in a matter of minutes of gameplay.

CONSOLE DEPENDENT: Everything in offline play depends on the console. From restarting the level to adding bots, it feels as if I have been plunged back to the days of CS1.0. While that is fine for most of us, the console does not even does what it's told to! Once, I tried to use killbot for a quick restart, instead of killing the bots, the game kicked every bot out of the match. Plus, the time between each round change is so unforgiving that if you forgot this is your last round on the map, you'll be plunged into a dreaded Team Objective match.

TEAM OBJECTIVE MATCHES: One of the best modes offered in the game as it requires teamwork, this mode in the offline portion is 2 steps backwards for the game. Offline TO matches are UNPLAYABLE thanks to the stupid AIs the game offers. The AI rarely helps out with the objective so you'll find yourself burning every farm, killing everyone and pushing every cart. In addition, when there are certain levels which requires 2 players to simultaneously complete an objective, there is no way to progress. What is the AI doing you might ask? Well... most of the time they are just standing around at the spawn kicking each other in the stomach, both ally and enemy AI.

ONLINE PLAY:
TOO DIFFICULT FOR BEGINNERS: This is where you'll find the most fun provided you have a friend to come along with you. Most of the time, the lobby is dominated by a few insanely experienced players. So you'll find yourself with high deaths and low kills. This is certainly because of the lackluster training mode and again, the stupid ass AIs of offline play.

LAG: The game server sucks. Period. Even on servers where I only have 5 ping, the game lags to hell. In addition to the experienced players, the game becomes unforgivingly difficult to the point of being unplayable.

STILL INSANELY FUN IN THE BEGINNING: Despite these, the game is still insanely fun in the first few hours. After that, only does the problem surfaces.

SUMMARY:
+ Fun in the first few hours
+ Fun with friends
- Stupid AI
- No way to hone your skills
- Online play too difficult for beginners
- Servers unable to handle even the slightest traffic
- Problems with NVIDIA card users.

This game is only recommended if you're really interested in this type of games or if you have a friend to go online with whenever you want. Otherwise if you're playing alone or whatnot, this game is not for you. Recommended to be purchased only during a sale.
