Buy it for the Zombies (and SP?), but that's it really. Multiplayer is pretty much abandoned. It's probably a good game to buy when it's on sale though, as it does have all of the original zombies maps + LOTS of modded maps for zombies.

It's basically a MOBA for people who don't like typical MOBAs.

It's not everyone's cup of tea really, but if you ask me it can be pretty fun.

Now when are they adding Jesus?

Brings back memories of the Descent series. Mixing that with the amazing graphics makes it even better. It definetly has potential, and I would love to see it end up finished.

TL;DR - Just buy the game already.

campaign good, multiplayer 2 many hax. only buy if it is cheap

It's like a realm where you can finally fufil your life's dreams.

It's a good game once you get past all the BS such as cheaters, smurfs, no-sounders, and toxic people.

Though most say it is not newb-friendly, for me it is. Community is nice, VAC works well, Good maps and the gameplay is just overall fun. This game is fun even if your terrible at it, I got the hang of this game in a few hours and became a decent player. There is atleast one weapon that suits your style, thats how good the variety is.

You can also use this game in GMod for access to some maps and items that are in CS:S, and allow some content from the steam workshop to work correctly. so thats 2 for 1. (if you own gmod that is).

Note: This game requires a decent amount of mechanical skill, so if your a newb to FPS games in general, then you might want to try something easier. I was previously skilled at other FPS games (I was at MLG level in some...), so thats why I found this game quite easy to get in to.

Please dont judge this game because its old or because there is no ADS in it, the game is really fun and I think if ADS was added it would ruin the game completely. No ADS means you actually have to crouch and use mechanical skill to get your gun to hit the target. Instead of this CoD thing where as soon as you ADS your gun becomes super accurate.


So, if your looking for a Challenge or a fun FPS game to play with friends or with others, or you are into the modding then id reccomend it. If your just getting into the FPS Genre of games, id suggest you go for something easier before you jump into CS:S.

And if you want to go eSports, then go for CS:GO. Thats where the eSports are centered around as far as I know. (even though that game requires less skill in general)

multiplayer dead and full of hacks (sometimes but rarely fun). campaign and spec ops are really good. time ago there were some great dedicated server mods for this games multiplayer that had a lot of extra mods and stuff added, but those are probably dead based on how things looked last time i checked.
