Overall decent game, but puzzles are way too easy. The most challenging part of the game that makes you "think outside the box" is collecting stars. The story and lore are mid, you've seen the exact same plot countless times before. If you never got into basic philosophy, some themes in the game might be thought-provoking, but that's it.

Devs did not remove Denuvo, but after some updates game does run better. You still need to tweak the engine file a lot to get better looks and more frames tho. Overall the base game is good, and with mods it's awesome.

✔ boring empty world
✔ 90% of the game looks bland
✔ good level design with shortcuts and verticality? nah just put a bonfire every 50-100 meters
✔ defeat the boat guy 6 times, the crystal dudes 4 times, the wooden asylum demon 15 times
✔ mostly lazy boss design: big damage sponges (average 30k HP), one-shot attacks, infinite stamina. no interesting challenge
✔ main story bosses are just the same grandpas: Godrick, Hodrick, Modrick, Nodrick, Yodrick...
✔ FPS locked, unlocking leads to an online ban
✔ no native playstation controller support or button prompts
✔ all achievements can be done in just one 40 hours playthrough and are even easier than in bloodborne

honestly the worst fromsoft souls game I've played. it's so bad I want to forget it exists.

valhalla is a viking-themed action rpg set in a world of assassin's creed. you don't get to play as an assassin but there are connections in the lore. I really tried to love it... and I can't.

on paper this game has so much cool things such as funny world events or environmental puzzles, but they give you nothing more than fixed amount of XP which is meaningless because there are no actual levels in this game and skills mean nothing. I also tried playing on the highest exploration difficulty with no quest markers, hoping it would give me some challenge. and yeah, for some quests the "unguided" objectives mode really works, but there are so few of them.

for some reason, the bird does nothing in this game. it was a core gameplay feature for origins and odyssey, in valhalla you literally can forget about it's existance. it's just a tool for seeing your waypoints and sometimes a circle of investigation area. it doesn't mark your enemies or battle opportunities - all of that moved to odin's sight - a pulse version of eagle vision with marked things lasting for about 2 seconds so you end up running and pressing sight pulse button all the time.

gear is pointless too. devs went for a "dark souls"-like system where you have a lot of armor sets that slightly difference in stats and you can grade every piece from 0 to 10 quality. but these stats mean nothing and you end up just wearing armor that looks cool. I don't even know why they added a transmog because you just can wear armor itself, it has no impact.

the only pros are visuals and music. this game looks insane with all the weather effects and clouds (and excellently optimised tho, it runs in smooth 60+ fps all maxed out on my laptop with rtx 2060 while origins had huge fps drops and stutters in big cities), but it's just so empty and soulless. combat is bad, stealth is bad, parkour is slow and buggy. there are so much buttons and abilities that controls are a mess even if you spend an hour trying to make your own control scheme (I made a guide on this and it still does not work sometimes, but default controls are even worse).

didn't like that one. if "the hidden ones" was a small adventure, expanding the brotherhood theme and giving a better ending to main game, "the curse of the pharaohs" is a more bulky but very mid addition. you go to a new zone that has no new mechanics, do stuff you did in side-quests for main game. story is confusing: for some reason there is another artifact that looks exactly like apple of eden but is raises the dead? gameplay-wise things get better when you enter afterlife: a cringe fantasy addition that has literally no explanation besides "it was in le head". there is one new enemy type (giant scorpions) which you need to farm if you want all your equipment fully upgraded. bosses are kinda boring but it's mostly because of the combat system not being really designed for interesting bosses. you have infinite arrows and tools while in afterlife so every encounter is incredibly easy. I must admit, all afterlife zones do look beautiful, and new music is good. the DLC will take you about 5-7 hours to complete and 10-12 hours to clear everything if you really want to. but it ends really confusing because it has no title card at the end like the main game or hidden ones dlc. you just kinda run out of main quests at some point. I was so confused about maybe I'm missing something that I checked the wiki and youtube walkthroughs but yeah it's just that bad. I'd not recommed this to play even if you got it with season pass. you will have better memories about Origins without experiencing this dlc.

An okay game. Visually feels like an asset flip with the same bush and vine copy pasted a million times. Portal and it's followers had a feeling of starting in a clean research center and later breaking into a backstage with creepy corridors. Here you start in a backstage, killing the vibe of breaking the rules and exploring something you shouldn't. Base mechanic is boring - it's not about actual time rewind - it's about rewinding certain objects on their path... until it's not. 90% of the puzzle rooms are: place the box on plates in reverse order, then fire your gun. Puzzles are extremely, like 1 y.o. toddler level easy - every new room takes you 15 seconds to figure out which cubes do you have, then 15 seconds to solve the puzzle in your mind, and another 3 minutes to actually do it because the rewind function is so slow, The gun really needs an option to hold another button to speed up the process to at least x3 speed. Also after the introduction of bridge cube you can skip about 70% of the remaining puzzles just by placing it on some slope and building yourself a staircase to the exit. And I'm not like a speedrunner or bug hunter, these game breaking moments are obvious and so easy to do. This is just bad level design. And for some reason there are so much action sequences which are, again, boring and slow.

very short (2-3 hours of story), sometimes buggy.
checkpoints in the main quest are awfully placed.
star wars reference joke was hilarious tho.
overall felt like a better ending to the base game
