When I first got this game I was mainly was looking for a fix for Age of Empires, it managed to do that and then some. The addition of agressive npcs kept me on my toes even while I was trying to build up forces to attack my nieghbors. Unlike other games in the genre there's no real downtime to plan things out. Most games that fit into the RTS group usually follow the idea of: gather resources, build structures, build army, then start fighting. You have to be able to plan your attacks while fending off attacks from both enemy factions and encounters from non faction hostiles, a rather refreshing take on how an RTS should work.

Red planets, green planets, purple planets, blue planets.....thats it, no really that's pretty much it.

After seeing all the updates they have clearly added more colors to the palette and whole lot more. Still not sure about the price, but there's definitely fun to be had!

Forced into a war with 7 command points, enemy fleet is 30 strong missile boats that I can't even reach. Every enemy AI is aggressive and demands tribute. Space battles look cool and can give some good screenshots. I rate it 3 bananas out of 5 rainbows, wouldn't buy again.
