A game with a great foundation that's unfortunately horribly mismanaged. Each new patch is a joke that fixes one issue while introducing two more, but at least they keep adding these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ brand collaborations for a quick buck because that's definitely what players are asking for.. Teasing a new game mode while your game is starved for content and then revealing that game mode to be '3vs3 ranked' was just insulting. The game was already bleeding players left and right while the developers were still struggling to understand what it is that actually makes their game fun - now the game is essentially dead. It was a mistake to go from a masterpiece like Sifu to whatever this is.

The game looks great, has a bunch of cosmetics and mechanics but only has ONE tiny map and the community maps are "work in-progress". I completed it twice in about 15 minutes with a couple of friends and.. the guards provide no challenge, puzzles are braindead, breaking random props will give you tools that you can clear the entire map with, and I repeat - the map is TINY. The tutorial is LONGER than the actual game itself. From what I saw, different vents/doors/paths get barricaded each round so it forces you to take a different route for "replayability" but since you can pretty much escape in UNDER 2 MINS - this feature is pointless.

This is the lowest amount of content I've ever seen in a game that costs 20eur and isn't even early access. Honestly even for an early access game this would be embarrassing. My guess is that the game was designed as some slop for streamers to mess around in and make their own content as it just doesn't have any on its own. Instant refund.

P.S. I'm pretty sure the devs are botting positive reviews. Lots of positive reviews from accounts with only 1 review and the review is like a total of 3 words... take that as you will. Also should mention, the shoddy moderation team is banning all discussion of review-botting in the Steam discussions. I wonder why.

As it stands, the game's not quite that good yet. This game is very clearly still early in development and the cracks are really showing but seeing the considerable progress that the devs are making in the official discord with full transparency has convinced me that it won't take long for this game to reach that height. Some feedback/criticism below:

+ The art's honestly on point, the mix of semi-realistic and comic-ish visuals fits the game really well.

+ Flying feels just right, traversal is super important in a superhero game and while I'm not gonna say this is the absolute best, it's definitely up there.

+ The city looks great, it's not too big but I saw the upcoming plans for expanding the city and I'm all for it.

- There's zero music in your apartment. This is where you start the game and the place that you return to after each day so you'll spend a good chunk of time here and it feels super weird having no music or ambiance until you step out.

- The tasks are really repetitive - each specific task that requires a QTE will make you do the exact same QTE input each time, some randomization here would be greatly appreciated.

- The civilian jobs are repetitive and I don't know why all of them aren't unlocked from the start. The taxi job isn't that bad but if I'm bored from it, am I just forced to do it until I unlock something else?

- Combat is like Batman: Arkham Asylum's combat if you couldn't counter attacks or use any gadgets/abilities and were only able to mash the basic attack on enemies and occasionally guard, there are unlockable abilities later on but the variety seems lacking.

- Villains are underwhelming, I did the first three and they were all identical. You chase a speedster with a timer, if you manage to stay on his tail until the timer runs out, a small cutscene plays where you knock them down and.. that's it. Very disappointing.

- Character customization is extemely lacking - a very small amount of unlockable suits/masks through progression here and there and a missing female character option in a game that's constantly saying "create your very own superhero and civilian identity" is jarring.

- Also on the above, civilian clothes in this game are pretty much pointless? Your selected costume/clothes only show when you're out and about as a superhero, civilian jobs will have their own uniforms so if you're only able to wear them when you're either in your apartment or saving people and fighting villains then that defeats the purpose of having them, no?

A good roguelike that seems to be a mishmash of Overwatch and Hades, but has probably some of the worst monetization schemes I've ever seen in my life. Hundreds of menus in the lobby all leading you to try to spend your money on some obscure part of the game.

The devs here are clearly trying to see if there are any whales in the roguelike market and it's a huge shame because the game's not bad at all - while this game had a decent start with around 6k players, this is definitely going to rub a lot of people the wrong way and that number will likely drop to 1k or less within a month.

The game's fun for a while with your mates, pretty terrible to play long-term as it just has a myriad of issues.
• Runs are too long, takes upwards of an hour for a single extract and extracting gives you basically almost no rewards.
• Levelling takes too long. I've completed two runs in total, took me about 3 - 4 hours. I'm now at account level 2 and I have 2k credits. At level 2 I can buy pretty much nothing, a single long-pipe, which is a terrible two-handed melee weapon costs 2000.
• Melee weapons are absolutely useless save for - the sledgehammer and the hatchet/fireaxe.
• Hitting zombies with a charged attack sometimes, for whatever reason, doesn't stagger them - making you eat a hit for nothing.
• Objectives sometimes bug out, so holding C will show you a different objective than what your mate 5 meters away from you is seeing.
• Character skills are almost entirely useless, there are skills where headshot damage is increased with a particular weapon type. A zombie will take 2 - 3 headshots to die normally with a pistol, with this perk - a zombie will take 2 - 3 headshots to die regardless.
• Zombies spawn infinitely, and have terrible spawns. You can kill a couple of zombies, do a 360 and see absolutely nothing, and then get grabbed by a zombie that seemingly crawled out of your ass as there's no way it could've gotten behind you otherwise.
• Latency's sometimes really bad, zombies will teleport and hit you from far away.
• Private squad matches are almost unplayable as the zombie count doesn't scale based on how many players are in the match.

I see a lot of comparisons with Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, and in all honesty this game's quite similar. Both are really good games while being somewhat flawed. As someone who 100%'d Bomb Rush, I think it's safe for me to say that the game's extremely good but has its flaws, as does every other game. Different vehicles were essentially useless apart from the one or two puzzles you use them in, different playable characters were pointless apart from a cosmetic change, though I do like playing with different skins from time to time, and it's pretty annoying that the only way to build a combo is by doing different tricks - there's no real challenge to it, just find a safe loop and mash different tricks until you run out of ideas. There's probably a lot of other things I can say but all in all, it wasn't a very original game - it did what Jet Set Radio did but slightly better.

I say all this but at the same time, Bomb Rush is a really fun game. I wouldn't give it a negative review due to those flaws just as I wouldn't give this game a negative review for its flaws. Other reviewers unfortunately don't share my opinion and would rather put this game down for 'Counter-intuitive controls', fairly minor bugs and some nitpicks which I'd rather not go into. The launch had some performance issues, and there was that nasty save corruption problem which has since been fixed. Those problems have been ironed out though so why does this game still have mixed reviews?

I'd consider it a hidden gem but it's not a perfect game. Unlockables don't feel rewarding at all, bike customization feels pretty underwhelming - some kind of rider customization would've been greatly appreciated here. Tricks are underwhelming as you just don't have any variety but riding does feel great though, maps are pretty big and diverse, NPCs are interesting and quirky but I have to say that I don't care much for this, at least not in this type of game. Probably the biggest flaw is that this game's now essentially dead, devs seemed to have dropped this completely due to poor sales which is a huge shame as all those needed updates are now.. null and void.

Forgot to mention, soundtrack's a banger.

"I know a lot of devs are getting shutdown for unfair reasons b-b-but the controls!"
Don't cause game studios to get shutdown for dumb reasons, put more thought into your reviews.

This game's just.. not good.
Dreadful progression system, bland/dull 'randomly generated maps', great weapons but upgrading them as well as your character feels extremely tedious.

Needing to survive a boss fight and then essentially end your run by heading back to the hub afterwards is just bad game design. I want to keep the run alive as far as I can and NOT be forced to end it prematurely as otherwise I lose ALL the items/materials I gathered throughout the run.

It's a huge shame cause the game's really fun at times, the boss fights are especially good but it's just too much of a pain having to sacrifice runs for the sake of progression.

Honestly this plays really well.
Each role controls differently and contributes in a unique way, career mode is fleshed out and fully functional, character customization offers a large variety of options, the game just has a lot to it.
It's sad to say but most sports games are severely lacking nowadays so it's a pleasant surprise when a fantasy sports game comes out and just does it better.

This is the best roguelike deckbuilder on the market.
High difficulty, endless replayability.
