Early Access Review
There's always an itch I have for a really immersive, charming farming sim that few truly scratch the way I want them to. Stardew Valley, Story of Seasons... and now, Fields of Mistria.

It's still in EA, but the amount of polish, care and love sunk into this game is apparent from day one. The charming light-fantasy aesthetic is incredible, the mechanics are all really solid so far, and it just feels nice to play.

The townspeople are all immediately charming. Even archetypes I don't usually go for are really nice and well rounded in this game.

Is it Early Access? Yes. So, inevitably, you will run out of storylines and content around the 40 hour mark. But I still think you should grab it and give it a go. It has a lot of polish and shine already, and I'm eager to see where this game goes once its gotten some more community feedback about some of my extremely minor nitpicks.

100% recommended.

Still *very* in Alpha, and a lot of the issues that come with it. But it's on its way to becoming a really sweet, really polished farming sim with a unique personality.

I have some nitpicky complaints, but a lot of it is chalked up to being in alpha. If the alpha part scares you, I would recommend waiting for the full release-- it's going to be worth it.

Slick and polished, this is a fun mix of games like Terraria and Minecraft. My only complaint so far (and it's very very minor) is the comparison to Stardew Valley. While there is a farming element, to me that is not enough for a game to 'feel' like Stardew. Maybe in the future there will be more NPCs with whom you can build relationships with-- to me, that's the core of Stardew's appeal.

Again, VERY nitpicky. I'm just putting that out there for anyone else who saw people make the comparison. It's strictly about the farming element, not the NPC one. It's still really great!!

I know it looks like I haven't played much of this, but that's because I've bought it three separate times and this is the third time. It slaps. Classic Telltale click-and-point, hilarious Homestar Runner dot com writing. Sometimes I can't even believe this game is real.

The S-tier farm sim because it's so much more than that. If you find you've working your way through it enough, try it with the Stardew Valley Expanded mod and watch it become shiny and new again.

A great idle clicker. Prob the best of its type. Especially good if you like Dungeons and Dragons podcasts/streams so you can use some of your favorites.

I love to build and fight and if you like to build and fight, this game slaps.

This is the most important game you will play this year, and possibly the most important game you'll ever play.

Do you want a game where your choices matter? This is that game. Every choice you make matters. And it will continue to matter long long after you make it. Your decisions will feel like your own. The consequences feel like yours. The emotions it will make you feel are tangible, and earnest. This is a very sincere game.

I don't really know what else to tell you.

Please play Undertale.
