Burned fields of weed with a flamethrower, all while listening to Skrillex.

I love this game.

At first glance, I thought that it was trying to be minecraft. Although it seemed like a 2D, minecraft-esque, survivor platformer thing, I still wanted it.

My friend decided to gift it to me (Thanks, Briar!.) a year or two ago. When I got in the game, it looked different than what I had seen in the video. I put off my homework for just a little bit to taste the sweetness of the pixelated success this game had to offer.

I like the art style. Very retro. I love games that do this, but you, reader, don't care about what I think. Actually, if you DIDN'T care about what I think, you wouldn't be reading this review, would you? WOULD YOU!?!?

Anyway, the game drops you into a land with nothing but the earth, trees, and a guide at your disposal. You get a few tools at the start, paving the way for your rise to power... or bringing out your inner greedy 19th century industrial imperialist.

Eventually, as you progress in the game (mining, crafting, building/expanding your estates), new NPCs start showing up. These new NPCs offer new goods that you can purchase with the coins you get from your adventures. Your adventure keeps collecting more of your intrigue as you journey deeper into your mines, ice caverns, dungeons, tombs, and even hell itself. Each new area grants new items for you to use; whether to craft with or to sell (but mainly craft).

The game may start to feel empty when you're on your own. Thankfully, this game has multiplayer! Server hosting has now been simplified, so all you pretty much need is hamachi or an open port + giving your IP address to random people over the internet in order to start teh partyz.

Overall, I love this game. My friends and I have wasted quite the chunk of our lives playing this game (third most played). Get this game. Tell your friends to get this game. Get your friends this game. It's a great game.

You could describe Ace of Spades as a Minecraft meets TF2 FPS. The game consists of two teams and four different classes. Those class are the engineer, marksman, heavy, and miner. Engineers have the ability to fly around the map. Marksman are your snipers. Heavies yield a minigun and some explosives. The miner can dig around the map much faster than the other classes.

I enjoyed this game, although there were a few sores that stuck out to me. One, the player community is really small, quick-matching pretty much consists of empty rooms, and only 1-3 servers at a time are full. Two, I was really annoyed by the fact that the marksmen are able to quick scope and get headshots easily. Because most the maps are pretty open, marksmen have the advantage.

However, despite these two main flaws, I still like this game. I play it from occasionally. I just hope that they would nerf the marksman a little more and get a bigger player base.

Yes, this game is a little buggy... but it's SO FUUUUUN. GIVE DEM YER MUNNIEZ.

Anyway, so this game is about wizards, just in case you didn't know. If you didn't know, then I'd probably [REDACTED]

This game uses the QWERASDF keys for you to conjure a spell. You select your elements to blend. I found this really fun. I could combine arcane with fire and water to get this steaming beam of DEATH that would boil my enemies. I could also combine arcane with water and cold (frost or snow, I guess...) to get these razor sharp blades that would shred my enemies like a cheese grater shreds your friend's face (if you're that kind of person...).

Although you can create these wicked spells, the game is only fun if you have someone to play with. If you're the only one in your circle of friends that has this game, then I feel sorry for you (add me, you can play with me :D). It can be fun on your own, but I highly recommend that you play with friends. Wickedness gets even more wicked that way. Also, there are no dedicated servers. You need to do your hamachi network set-up, port-forwarding, or whatever you do to play with friends.

Yes, this game has bugs. Yes, I've had my problems with the bugs, too. Sometimes I would find myself getting achievements that I didn't think I should have. I could be walking along the yellow brick road and all of a sudden I get this achievement where I pushed Gandalf of the bridge. Paradox got better about fixing them, but there are still a few bugs in the game.

The bugs don't take away the gameplay too much. I recommend this game. However, I only recommend it IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS TO PLAY WITH. It's kind of like Minecraft or Terraria; it feels really empty if you don't have someone to burn your house down to the ground.
