Great great game. Simply basic concept, explore a world full of monsters. Catch new monsters to gain access to new areas.

Build teams that synergize with each other (stack fire, or bleed, or buffs to amp your own damage, stack debuffs or shields, or have multiple ways of regaining hp to stay in the fight). There's also a weakness/resistance system baked in, but instead of specifically an elemental type it can also be physical attacks or magical attacks, meaning that building a diverse team is key. Build out additional combo pieces with your equipment, or fill in gaps in your stats to support yourself that way. You won't be able to max out the skill tree so pick your monster upgrades thoughtfully, but know that if you make a mistake you can always respec. Partway through the game you'll also unlock a like/dark system which provides additional upgrades to existing monsters.

Even after the end of the game there are still more legendary boss fights to track down and challenge with your end game team. If you're still jonesing for more even after all of that the game includes a new game+ mode. Additionally they've already added free new content (think paid expansions from other games) and may continue to do so?

I have only good things to say about this game. Fights between zones can become a bit grindy... but I feel like that's par for the genre as you work to gain XP.
