I really like this game, I really do. But currently it's not in a position where I can recommend it fully. With most of core gameplay implemented, I feel like it struggles to hit that core loop of looting, scavenging, and improving your ship/clones. By the time I was able to start upgrading my ship and begin aiming at improving my arsenal, the system was reduced to a few corporations with barely any missions to come by. I would move across the system only for the mission to expire.

While an argument can be made for you to play a neutral player and keep the status quo of power between corporations. The endgame needs to be tweaked a bit to support the players choice in supporting only a couple corporations, since the game emphasizes this play style due to the tech level system incorporated. This doesn't require an overhaul but necessary tweaking of mission variety and quantity and maybe an "endgame threat" to keep it fresh. Since I believe at this stage of the game the exciting part comes from customizing and leveling up the guns/armor/clones/classes, which come from grinding missions and min/maxing. However, with no missions to play my only option is to reset the game and play neutral.

I'll come back to this game in sometime since I love extraction shooters; hopefully the endgame improves a bit.

Unique and creative art style, designing an open world around the Greek mythos is not something I've seen before. Despite the simplistic combat the game does a good job at keeping it interesting with puzzles and upgrades.

If you like quick time events this is your kind of game. You're basically John Wick of Rome. Action was simple, enjoyable, and very easy to pick up and learn. The story is nothing crazy and only around 5 hours. Graphics were actually pretty good for the time. Pick it up on sale.

Score: 8.5 - A novel introduction to realistic medieval RPGs, this game comes with an intricate combat system, great dialogue, consistent characters/writing and in the sake of video games: great historical insight.

I believe that amount of bugs, while not game-breaking were definitely noticeable. Especially in big fights where it begin teetering to the jank. The story, like European medieval history was a bit all over the place. But the core of the story with Henry and his companions was a definite treat and made it worthwhile.

Beating this game on hardcore I believe wasn't necessary and had it ups and downs. A lot of the fetch-quest in the game were not my cup of tea but that's how most RPGs tend to play out.

I'm excited for the second rendition of the game, I believe that with the world building and character development set, it can be a really special game. Especially since they can build on the same mechanics and focus towards the world and new features.

I would highly recommend this game if you enjoy European history and more grounded RPGs. Pick it up on sale!

Solid third game in the series. One of the strongest aspects of the Metro franchise was its atmosphere, as for post apocalyptic games there is nothing that comes close. In the transition to an open-world game I did not feel as the quality of the atmosphere dropped, but rather improved upon it. The hand-crafted environments give the appropriate emotion for each setting. From crazed swamp hicks to cannibals the game made each with respect to how it would be in post-Russia.

Story: 8/10, That story is straight forward but its grounded connection to the relationships between characters is what creates the immersive atmosphere. For a silent protagonist (besides journals) I think they did a great job of putting you into the character, with an emphasis on dialogue and everyday actions. Compared to the previous games this one strays away from the "Dark ones" and focuses more on the dreams and aspirations of Artyom and Miller, which for better or worst, makes the world closer to reality.

Gameplay: 8.5/10, Another one of the strongest aspects of the game is its first-person survival horror elements. For someone like myself I love the small touches of cleaning your gun, gas mask, and charging your batteries. Playing this game on Spartan hardcore (the one that gives some HUD), contributed greatly to the immersion of the game, and while I see only around 3% of people finished the game with this setting. I would recommend at any skill level to play on this difficulty. While you die in a couple of shots the AI is rather easy to manipulate and gives you a sense of urgency and avoid bullet sponge tropes. Gathering and collecting resources to craft ammo and survival equipment also added the sense of scarcity, this conservative mindset changes the dynamic of interactions, should I stealth past? Or risk some of my ammo to take this fight. My only downside to some of the combat was the boss battles which took away from some the creative ways to solve problems from the game and changed it to a simple firefight.

Music and Sounds: 9.5/10, another must have in the franchise, I'm very happy with the soundscape considering the differences with environments in previous games. The music added to the setting and worked in conjuction with the ambience. Having to work with such a diverse set of environments was a challenge and I believed they did a great job transitioning out of the "metro". No complaints from me.

Graphics 9.5/10, I have a 2070 Super which at the time of release was one of the top cards, I didn't play the enhanced edition considering it would reset my progress, but with how good the base game looked. I am very happy even without RTX mode on. This makes me want to save up for a 4080 when the budget allowed me! Also, depending on what monitor you have will greatly affect how the game looks. I have a nice 1440p LG monitor for around $500 however, this monitor sucks with dark environments which was a total bummer since it gives a "bleached" look. Regardless, the game still looked good with this defect.

Overall 9/10: I'm happy to see that even after two games of similar nature, they still managed to make a refreshing post-apocalyptic title. Compared to previous games, getting different endings was much easier than last light (which is bollocks). Pick this game up whenever now since its relatively cheap! Looking forward for the sequel!

Amazing experience, my first "choices matter" kind of game. The narrative and the visuals is some of the best I've seen in a video game without burning my graphics card. Considering how many different choices could be made, I admire how much this game branches out into a variety of outcomes. With so many intricate and tough choices to make, getting the happy ending might not be as easy it as seems. Below I will put some of my favorite aspects of the game.

1. Animation: I thought the facial animations were done extremely well, and this helps greatly with conveying emotions. Getting this right was crucial to making the intense scenes so much more impactful.

2. Quick-Time Events: In most games I find these sort of mundane. But, for the nature of the game they were actually a thrill.

3. Overall theme: I thoroughly enjoyed the theme of sentience in a machine, while it didn't go too deep and focused more on emotions. I found it quite intriguing.

4. Presentation: In much of the bigger scenes, there was a strong focus on presenting the ambiance and setting, these scenes are some of the best I've seen in a game.

5. Music: Amazing, set the mood and excitement of scenes very well.

The only negative I have to say is that most of the dialogue choices are one word options, sometimes these don't give enough context on how exactly your character will respond, I understand that the quick nature of the game prevents reading longer options, but maybe one to three words would of been better.

Some of the best hour to dollar enjoyment I've gotten from a single player game. Probably the best interactive story game on the market. Highly recommend and once you finish, becomes very fun to watch others play as well.

Pretty sweet fallout 1 type game. Combat is turn based but since the game gives you a ton of creativity with builds and actions, it never really gets boring. That being said the game is difficult and I would recommend looking up a build to follow or you will get bodied throughout the game. Story and lore is cool but nothing crazy. Soundtrack and atmosphere is awesome and the art style definitely gives it a gritty feeling. This game also gives the player freedom in choosing how one might decide to beat a quest or choose how the story progresses. I look forward to doing another run of this game when I get some free time! Only complaint is deep caverns section of the game which gets pretty repetitive and requires a ton of back-tracking and walkthroughs which will definitely give you a headache.

It's definitely different from many of the games I've played, its reminiscent of old difficult 80s, 90s games and even from a philosophical standpoint, life itself.

Besides those comparisons, the game is an easy to pick up, hard to master sorts with an unforgiving atmosphere, one misplaced jump off by some milliseconds could set you back a decent amount. But, that's what makes this game challenging/rewarding, that any mistake you make is completely your fault. To beat this game takes a certain mindset and dedication, and once you figure that out you're in the money.

Other than that, the pixel work was great, sound/music design is perfect for a game that has players stuck on a "level" for sometime.

Highly recommend this game for anyone looking for a challenge or maybe a hidden life message within the game.
