That's a whole debate waiting to happen, really. Some pokemon are probably intelligent enough for that (mostly psychic types) and some of them might not be. There's also a whole argument based on the fact that you are the pokemon's master and therefore may be abusing a position of power over them.
Though at the end of the day the world of pokemon is a wild west if you really stop to think about it, lots of hormone-addled trainers venturing off into the wilderness where no one is sure to come by, making completely secret little hidden bases for god-knows-what purpose, so if you really wanted to then no one other than the pokemon itself could stop you or would even know it happened.
So the takeaway is that only you can answer that question for yourself, as everyone's gonna have their own opinion. My vote is "it's probably fine"
