Its kind of alright for an indie RTS, seen far worse. Voice acting is suprisingly good, sounds are decent, music is meh, graphics are serviceable, animations and unit responsiveness is ok. Unit variation is pretty standard but the game only has one faction so it feels samey.
But it reeeally needs some AAA polish to not feel like like a second rate Warcraft/AoE knockoff. Also the campaign story is horribly generic and maps get reused left and right.

I think i need to stop revisiting old favorites before i trash my fond memories. :D
Trying it again Airborne aged incredibly badly. Gunplay feels stiff, hitboxes messed up, damage is almost random(same enemy MP40 clip may get you almost killed, or barely scratching you both from few meters and 3 buildings away on medium difficulty), enemies are brainless, spammy, and sometimes spawn in front of, or around you. :O
The open map landing mechanic is not bad, but the maps re pretty small, and on the ground do feel like interconnected standard FPS corridor maps(arbitrary blockades everywhere), and there are mission segments that box you in a linear path anyway. As a matter of fact in Call of Duty 2(from 2005 btw) i felt a bit more freedom than in this game, despite being the standard example for a corridor shooter.

Overall even for a 2007 game it feels shallow, and dated. Be sure to not play it after Crysis, Mass Effect, Bioshock, or even CoD4 Modern Warfare, your memories of Airborne will be totally ruined.

Pretty blatant Half Life 2 ripoff 3 years late. Shoting feels fine, but level design is generally sub par, the game just feels like a HD remake of an 1997 shooter. Compared to its peer Crysis(or 2005 FEAR even!) this game feels so old and 2 generations behind its not even funny.
