As a hardcore SekiSoulsBoorne enthusiast, I have to say that this game felt like putting on an old shoe. It was familiar and comfortable while playing with a few minor adjustments to the controller layout. However the experience is just that; putting on an old shoe. While the setting and storyline are in the same vein as H.R. Giger or H.P Lovecraft it's formula is almost-too-similar to how FromSoft has developed their schemas. Like you are playing a Dark Souls 1 port with an extreme overlay mod. I digress, however, as the experience was exciting and gave the same sense of adventure you get from the Souls series.
I love that there was a jumping mechanic and that there was duel wielding builds with gun-loaded artillery. Unique in it's approach to combat.
Overall, I love the game. Although it felt all too familiar, in that lies the beauty of exploring the beautiful world of Irid Nova Station. A completely new world to explore and destroy at your will. Hats off to the developrs! Wish they were following up with more material.
