While RNG is a big part in how your run will go, the game gives you many options of changing how your run will go. The game can be a laid-back experience, or an intense fight for your life - difficulty is serious. The hardest difficulties will see you suffer and the easiest will let you go for stupid ideas or use it as a background game,

The newest DLC adds in an incredible amount of new synergies and run ideas, while adding in two very fun characters and many new stages. From the amount I've played of it (about 10 hours) the DLC is definitely worth it. Heavily recommend both the game and dlc!
