another excellent experience of a game from the masterful Yames. a very freaky body horror experience with visuals that remind me of those early point-n-click games with pre-rendered 3D graphics, which have always been inherently unnerving to me no matter the context.

to keep it spoiler free, the story incorporates both occult mysticism and academics trying to understand something bigger than themselves (to put it simply.)

ive only gotten one of the endings as of the writing of this review but im looking forward to going around again and getting the second one. hopfully looking forward to Yames' other horror work making it to Steam so he can get more eyes on his work!

A short and sweet lil' Stealth Horror game.

Pros:
-Small, adorable protagonist.
-Scary-as-hell antagonist design.
-Excellent looking environment, lighting, and atmosphere.
-Gameplay and mechanics are relatively simple and solid.
-Did I mention how adorable the protagonist is? A very simple, yet unique design.

Cons:
-Kinda short (about 1-1.5 hours at most with no break) which is understandable,
-However this means there is also no save system.
-Mara's animations seem a bit clunky/twitchy as she moves around a few of the environments. This took me out of the immersion a bit, so I'm assuming it isn't intentional.
-Occasional camera-clipping during death cutscenes (depending on where Mara catches you of course.)
-A few controls (jumping, creating a wax-buddy, and using the douter) occasionally became unresponsive (at least while using a NSW Pro Controller.) This fixed itself upon death, which isn't much of a hindrance.
-Its a bit difficult to tell whenever you're "visible" or not. Sometimes I thought I was hiding and then the scary music would start up, signifying Mara had seen me.
-Not much of a story is told in the game itself...yet.

Overall, the game is a nice little experience. All the cons I listed honestly didn't impact my experience too much, just consider it a short list of bugs and things I think could be touched upon. If this plans to be expanded into a longer, slightly more polished experience, I'll definitely be looking forward to paying for it. There's a whole lot of potential here!

An incredible step up from the first game. Genuinely some of the most one-of-a-kind visuals Ive seen in Unity, as well as a genuinely impressive transition into 3D, that keeps the same uniquely dithered-claymation art-style Lindroth's known for.
And god...the music. Chuck Salamone knocked it outta the park. Looks like a new earworm has made it's home in my head.
The story isn't really anything to write home about, but that's not really the reason why someone would play this game :) However, it definitely expands somewhat on the world of the first game, and even gives reasoning for a few tiny things that weren't even really "plot" factors before. Very nice.

My only complaint of note is platforming can be a tiny bit cumbersome, and the side-scrolling minigame(s) are a little confusing sometimes. It's nothing that severely detracted from my experience, and at this point of release, QOL and bug-fixes are still being pushed regularly based on feedback. Good on ya Mason.

But anyway...just...yes, buy and play this game. Just be sure to give your eyes a rest every few hours. You'll need it in order to take everything in :)

I decided to jump into this game mostly blind, after watching a little bit of gameplay, and hearing a lot of folks I know online rave about how good it is (even consider it their favorite game). After finishing it just now I can say with complete certainty that this game has become a top favorite of mine too.

I've always been a sucker for the concept of space exploration as well as archaeology--mostly discovering the unknown-- but putting these two things together along with a fascinating story of a long-dead alien race who's ruins and impact on the galaxy are up to you to discover...hoo boy... Mobius, you've caught me hook, line and sinker. I always wanted to find the next place to explore in this game. The feeling of almost literally uncovering the story is one out of many things that made me continuously invested in Outer Wilds. There are so many small, subtle details to find. Environmental story-telling is also very prominent and satisfying to find, which I very much appreciate.

I highly enjoy the music, which is often a nice mixture of banjo (or other acoustic) alongside soft synth, giving the feeling of...calming folksy alien Bluegrass? I'm not sure what else to call it, but I like it. I think my favorites are the title theme and "End Times," but I have a feeling everyone might say that.
One last thing: I like the characters and their designs very much. They're all written very well, even the ones we never get to meet in person. Also everyone just looks cool as hell. Its not something a lot of people talk about in reviews, but here I am.
TLDR: Great story, kinda funny. Also beautiful and heartwrenching. Cried.

Gmod can be whatever you want it to be, so long as you have a creative mind, skill in 3D modeling, and fundamental knowledge of the Source Engine...or just a wild trigger-finger to click as many "Subscribe to this mod" buttons as possible.

I have more hours in this game than I should...Excited to see how well this game moves to Source 2.

Definitely one of the best games I've ever played...a favorite of mine for a long time. Portal 2 will never go out of style...until someone ports it to Source 2 of course.

Chill, atmospheric jump n' dash platformer with nice music and pretty and glowy visuals.
Took a little bit to get the controls right, but for those complaining about them, play with a controller and use one of the controller config listed in the community configs. Otherwise, Im looking forward to the sequel :]
