DO NOT BUY. I got this as part of the massive far cry bundle, and it is easily one of, if not THE worst-designed gameplay experiences I have EVER had. Movement is way too slow, glide-y, and generally uncontrollable to be even remotely workable, let alone fun. The way weapons and upgrades are gated (and also just designed in general) means that most fights involve spending a ridiculous amount of time slowly chipping away at bullet sponges with slow, chunky, low-feedback, unfun and ineffective weaponry before you get the better gear, which suffers from the exact same issues, only very slightly less atrocious. Also, throwables and shields are uncommon at best, ineffective, and non-respawning single-use, so good luck completing any queen fight after the first one if you haven't stacked every side mission and stockpiled all the best gear and throwables. Changing the difficulty seems to make no difference whatsoever to how horrifically egregious the gameplay is, other than on easy you get to the insta-death state in maybe three hits, whereas on hard you get there in one or sometimes two if you're lucky. Oh, and the storytelling and humour in this is monstrously cringe and criminally unfunny, even by 2018 standards.

DO NOT BUY IT, but great game. Leaving a negative review because Gearbox bought the IP, so the game is headed down the toilet REAL fast. As of writing this review, though, like I said - great game in properly finished state. Download it for free elsewhere and get a mod manager (might be a bit difficult for those versions though) and enjoy it while you still can.

- Fun and replayable
- Very cool style & simple-but satisfying graphics
- Amazing devs
- Interesting mechanics & in-game systems
- Decent manual modding support
- Tons of future potential
- No microtransactions

Cons:
- Still somewhat early in development, and development is slow compared to big titles
- Can be a bit buggy after updates
- Multiplayer is a bit laggy
- Tiny playerbase (please help fix that, buy this game!)

Long review:
A very fun game with a very promising future, if you're willing to wait. Indie game developed by two absolutely phenomenal devs, so even though development is slow compared to bigger titles, the game is still highly replayable, and new content is added consistently (+bugfixes). I would highly recommend joining the devs' Discord server if you're interested in this game, where they post updates, have conversations with players, answer questions, and take suggestions. The game can tend to be a bit buggy sometimes, but as of this review, there are no major issues with it. Overall, definitely worth the buy!
