Warband is the hallmark of the Mount and Blade series. In singleplayer, where I spent most of my time, you wander around gathering troops, training your army, conquering other armies and towns, felling kings and keeps. Join other kingdoms or create your very own from scratch. If a pletheora of complete overhall mods, every experience is a new one.

Be wary for some of the repetitiveness, if you die you lose your army and practically have to start over again. The commanding of your singleplayer army is sketchy but your commands to them are well heard. When you fight another party, your army spawns on one side, the enemy on the otherside and charge each other; this typically remains the same until you defend / attack a town / castle.

The strongest part of the game is the feeling of success and progress you get from playing. Building up an army of dozens to several hundred takes time but is so rewarding when you swamp a castle, but again losing it is almost soul crushing.

I've hardly ever tried the multiplayer.
