I've defended this game as a niche gem for years but they added Vic Mignogna (a man who filed and then failed at defamation suits so poorly that he admitted to being a pedophile during his deposition) as a voice actor as part of their 1.0 launch. No-one can discern that such a thing would come to pass, that a team would choose to hire someone blacklisted (for good reason) years after you have purchased and been party to the testing of their early access product. It's a massive slap in the face to anyone with decency about them that chose to trust the developers.

I really want to believe these devs are honest about the situation with how they're handling the Legendary status upgrade but given that they are using midjourney for art assets and not disclosing that I really can't take them at their word at this point.
There's no tutorial or actual in-game guides for any of the systems or mechanics, hotkey abilities will arbitrarily not work or have unexplained conditions for when you are allowed to use them.
The solution they have for not having a tutorial is a sherpa system which means your mileage will vary wildly based on who you pair up with for lessons and hey, guess what, it's an extraction game so the majority of those people are going to be aggro and low on patience.
Cannot recommend it in the state it's in.

update: the game crashed with a BSOD and when I finished rebuilding files to reboot my PC it had corrupted my bluetooth stack. Ricochet, the kernel level anticheat they developed for this game, may actually be a danger to one's PC.
At the same time? DMZ is fun as hell. wish this was just, not an ass game to play with all the unfinished garbage, technical issues, and horrible community

DAN is too hard but it's fair.

This game is charming. It was originally on the XBLIG service, where it was equally charming, but since the PC port has come out the dev has been incredibly active and persistent in making the game as good as it can be.

This is not a Call of Duty game and that is a good thing.

The microtransactions are garbage though.

Combine Wolfentstein ET, a Hess-o-Eukrainian Steampunk mythos, and your favorite tower defense game, and you get this. Trust me, it's a lot cooler than it sounds.
