Somewhat disappointed in this one. The pixel graphics are gorgeous, especially the cutscenes, and I liked quality of life features like automatically indicating that you are done with a location / puzzle. The puzzles themselves are pretty logical, but also very easy. If you are an experienced point-and-click player, you'll probably never wonder what you have to do next, let alone get stuck. The story starts strong and interesting, but kind of turns mediocre to bad when it connects to the first game in the second half, and the ending left me pretty unsatisfied. I also think that the writing does a very poor job of really selling a Cthulhu-vibe, a far cry from other adventure games that tackle these themes like "The Excavation of Hob's Barrow". Finally, for me the worst thing by far about the game was the terrible voice acting. There are some OK performances, but the majority of them is shockingly bad considering the general production values of this game.

Still overall a recommendation, but probably not for full price, especially considering the relatively short time it takes to finish the game. Wait for a 5€ sale or so.

Very enjoyable point&click adventure. Entertaining story and good voice acting, but the puzzles could be a bit more difficult.

Starts off really strong but becomes somewhat repetitive and unimaginative in puzzle design as it goes on (e.g. several puzzles are just matching up symbols in languages that you already know with new ones). Only had a single puzzle towards the very end that seemed almost completely arbitrary to me (both in meaning and word order) so at least that's good when compared to some point&click adventures of old.

Recommended but would probably advise waiting for some kind of discount (<$10).

Classic point and click adventure, although way shorter than I remembered it being as a kid. The story is also not nearly as good as in the first one. Still highly recommended!

The remastered cutscenes are a nice touch, but to be honest the changes to the UI (the portraits during dialogues stick out in a really glaring way) are bad enough that the classic version is the superior one.

Great game, although I would have wished the cases to become a bit more intricate as the game went along.
