i'm not big on sokoban, but Void Stranger's atmosphere & non-sokoban puzzle elements were strong enough to hook me for a good 15+ hours. If you like taking notes (and don't mind pushing blocks), this one might be for you!

...but in the end, it wasn't for me.
After the first major story arc, I got absolutely blindsided by an unexpectedly Conservative story twist which basically soured my whole experience.

After being given a choice to return to Earth alongside one of two captive souls, our main character chooses to save the life of a Zygote (not even a baby!) over the woman she'd spent the whole game trying to rescue.

Not only that, but the implied father of said zygote slept with the princess under false pretenses (before attempting to murder her). Maybe this is me being uncharitable, but it feels weird for the void lords to praise mary's devotion, only for her to pivot and save a 1-week old rape-fetus instead of the princess she supposedly loves...

Assuming the writer is religious, i guess this choice makes sense in their worldview. For me, though? Too much to stomach.

Hey this game rules.

It's pvp Touhou. Of course it's good.

The story mode is really fun too, which some terrifying challenges at the upper difficulties.
