Foreword
I bought assetto corsa during very early access, at this stage I had just purchased a logitech G27 wheel, so my review only covers my experience with a wheel. I have experimented vastly with mods, customs skins, ect. And at this stage of time own all DLC. My playtime may not seem huge concidering my opinion on the game, however a period of weeks throughout owning assetto corsa I played without internet and clocked up vast amounts of gametime.

What I love
Updates, although this game may not be heavily updated and in the mid stages of development, Kunos has often had me hyped when I see an update for assetto corsa, they often include bonus content (free tracks and cars) as an addition to updates.
Kunos has managed to turn asstto corsa into a solid racing simulator, I say racing simulator due to the fact assetto corsa is not a Ken Block fan, with dubstep and monster energy sponsors every where, but more so a elegant and classy feeling simulator.
Physics. oh lord the physics!, I dont have to say much here, assetto corsa feels real. By that I mean the cars handle exactly as you'd expect, a large portion of third party mods and tracks also are built solid and offer great feeling racing experiences regardless of skill.
If your a modder, this game is for you, seriously the comunity has grown massively, when I first purchased this game there was about, five vehicle mods tops, during its development and expansion the modding community is now huge, this is great as it self remidies some things I dislike about assetto corsa, and helps make assetto corsa better.

I could talk about all these lovely things assetto corsa does, but the main problems with the game will most likely help you deside on whether the game is for you or not.
Content, Assetto Corsa does have a wide range of vehicles and tracks, however, there is not a large range of japanese vehicles (Honda NSX, Nissan Silvia, Mazda RX7 ect) personally I'm a huge fan of japanese cars, and the fact there are so few may put you off, as it did me, however with the huge growth of the modding community and the release of DLC and updates, you can find what ever vehicle your after from third party, and theres still the potential of additional vehicles from Kunos themselves.
Theres no in game customization, this may not bother a large portion of players, but those who do like having the ability to change the asthetics of there vehicles for whatever purpose(s) may have second thoughts for this reason alone.


Assetto Corsa is far from Forza and Grandturismo, in terms of visual adjustments and share number of content, however theres something that keeps making me come back for another few races, or download some mods and slide down the mountains of japan in a four door family car, destroying the rear tyres in the process, at the moment you really have to outway the pros and cons and decide if the games for you. A majority of my gripes with the game can be remidied from third party content, and thats what makes me want to keep coming back.

Steam Workshop needs to be implimented ASAP, as I believe the modding community is whats trully making this game enjoyable, dont get me wrong the base game is good, but the lack of content can become stale within the first 40 hours of gameplay.

Overall this game could be better, however at its current state I'd rate it 7.5/10

My oppinion may be slightly biast due to my passion for young adult novels

It took me roughly five hours to complete this (game?), and during those five hours I was hooked; Seriously I couldn't stop playing. The story may have been slightly shallow and predictible (dont expect a master peice here) yet I still found it enjoyable to read and (play?) through, never the less its entertaining as hell. Sell a few steam cards and buy this game, even if you are only slightly inclined towards young adult novels or choose your own adventure games, because trust me it makes a nice read.

Made me feel like I have a social life.
