Easily one of my favorite games of all time. Endless role playing and scenarios to create and live out.

Man, I am usually step for step with reviews on Steam but not here. I don't see why everyone is hating on this, yeah there are some bugs but the game is in early access. Also, yes the game is difficult and requires a little bit of a learning curve but it is totally possible with some tweeking and villager micromanagement to have a thriving village before long. Forget to start chopping firewood before your first snow hits and you're people start to freeze, sooo just like real life. My only gripe early was I felt it needed more of a threat, they just added Raiders so I'm stoked to see how that plays. However, if you want to play iut has a city builder you can turn disastors off.

Also, for those upset this is close to Banished. So what? I love Banished and I really like this game. I'm not going to be upset with more village builders in this timeframe. I love them both, it doesn't have to be one or the other.

It was heart breaking pressing the thumbs down button for this one. I have been following the development of FireWatch for around a year and have been looking forward to it's release since my first stumbing across it. However, the story leaves so much to be desired. Bland and somewhat convoluted at times even though you get the feeling it wasn't trying to be. I stuck pretty close to the story and got a little over three hours out of it. At the current price tag, that's just not enough game play.

It has to be said though, the game is stunningly beautiful and does a fantastic job of making you care about Henry and a distant lit up tower in Delilah. The banter between the two feels real and is well written. It just seems that after around an hour and half someone told the developers you can't keep doing the banter and must tie in some awkward mystery story to end this game. That shift in story and the very disappointing ending after such a short amount of game play is what turned the game towards a thumb down for me.

Super bummed about this thumbs down.
