As a big Dune fan—especially of the old movie—I was really excited to dive into Dune: Awakening, and overall, it hasn’t disappointed. The graphics are excellent, capturing the harsh beauty of Arrakis in a way that feels authentic and immersive.

The gameplay is seriously addictive. I love survival games like The Forest, and also enjoy third-person looter shooters, so the blend here suits me perfectly. The combination of exploration, gathering resources, and upgrading gear kept me hooked for hours.

That said, I do wish the combat and general controls were a bit more fluid. Sometimes it feels clunky when you’re fighting or moving in tighter spaces, and smoother animations would really elevate the experience.

One other area that could use improvement is how quests are presented. Right now, it’s mostly clicking through text boxes, which doesn’t feel very impactful in a world as rich as Dune. It would be great to have something like a mini 3D head pop up with voice-over dialogue to bring the characters and story to life in a more cinematic way.

Despite those small gripes, I’m loving the game. It’s a strong survival experience with a lot of promise, and as a longtime Dune fan, it’s a thrill to finally explore Arrakis this way.

The Forest haves a lot of potential, if you really like the Survival / Horror genre like me you wont regret supporting this game from start and follow it's development.
