At times, I hesitate to even call this a game. It is more of an experience.

Playing as Thomas and his compatriots can be seen as just moving around colored blocks, and on the surface that is what you are doing. take a little time to invest yourself in the story, and you start to see the game in a light far more refined than how it seems to start.

What really helps the story along is the narrator. While not as overly tied to the allure of the game, like Rucks in Bastion or the narrator of The Stanley Parable, this narrator does a well enough job in bringing the emotion of these little blocks to the forefront. He has a dry wit, which shines through at certain points and helps break the monotony that can set in.

The plot, while nothing overly unique, is well laid out. It all comes back to the idea that you are taking squares and rectangles, moving them around, and creating a relatively complex story out of what happens.

If you are looking for a massive game to devote your time and essence to, this won't be for you. But if you are looking for something to enjoy, rather than just play, then maybe, just maybe, you have come to the right place
