I wish more modern RPGs took note from what is done in Alpha Protocol. So many memorable characters, if somewhat a muddled plot. The gameplay is very classic RPG albeit in realtime; think OG Deus Ex. It can be clunky to some, but I find it very satisfying as you level up and both get better at the game.
Word of advice for those seeing it as a pure stealth game--at least get good with one weapon aside from the pistol. The bosses can be unforgiving even on Normal. I didn't have too hard a time this playthrough, but I played it alot back on PS3.
I think Cyberpunk 2077 will be taking influence in the "get by doing" and "no right or wrong--only results" aspects that integrate into the gameplay so well.
For a funtime, do a Recruit run 1st. It's a bit of a handicap on your starting AP, but you get at least a level's worth back in the first area. If you think you can break and abuse the game systems--do so. That's what makes Alpha Protocol so remarkable in gameplay. As far as dialogue/choices/actual-RPG elements, this game is a gem. Got this for 3.75 off a British Key store right when it was pulled from Steam. If you like RPGs or aRPG in the traditional, non-hack'n'slash sense: GET THIS GAME.
