Yes, it's VERY short, but for the hour I got out of my £1.69 it was well worth it. Literally just needs some kind of horde mode (open up the whole alley at once?) and you could get 5+ hours out of it easily. Picking up and throwing pins feels immensely satisfying, the achievements are fun... there's a real core of something beautiful here.

Any game that isn't on maximum volume at first launch is an insta-recommend in my book. The gameplay itself is also incredibly fun, kinda tricky but awesome when you get a groove going, and is a pretty awesome base for more stuff to hopefully be added to

You know when people make fun of those pretentious artsy PS1-style 'psychological horror' games with a couple mild jumpscares, frustrating controls and cliche spooky lines?

Well, this is that game. Whether that's a good thing or not is up to you.

Pure, beautiful, condensed roguelike build-making fun. The actual gameplay is minimal even by roguelike standards - you can move to an adjacent space, attack an enemy in range, or stand still. That, along with 3 prayers from your chosen starting god, are your ENTIRE skillset. And there's *so much* build variety from just those. It's not far off an autobattler, really - some builds you can genuinely just hold down RMB or spacebar and clear the screen once you load in. Hell, I've played a build or two that clear the screen as soon it loads, before even getting a chance to move.

The game feels like it's built around saying "I want to make a build that does X" and then just... doing it. Unlike more punishing roguelikes (most obvious comparison is Rift Wizard), it's not about finding a build that can beat the game, it's about finding the most broken one. And every time you think you've found it, you come across an interaction between a few skills that blows things up even faster.

If you love to look at a big page of skills/classes and pick one out that sounds cool, stroke your wizardly beard and go "Hmm... how can I make this work?" this game is perfect for you. Because chances are it will work, and it will be awesome.

Neon White's older, cuter, simpler cousin. Sinks its claws into you with the first couple levels then suddenly throws the gauntlet at you after you finish the 2nd world. Addicting and a brilliant bite-size experience.

It's pretty short, pretty damn funny and an absolute blast to play. Seriously, that movement is so simple yet so good that my only gripe is that there aren't more worlds to manoeuvre around in. Well worth the price of admission.

One of the most intoxicatingly fun games I've ever played. Everything about the game is so stylish and exciting, so fast-paced and thrilling, it's hard to put it down. It's a damn near perfect speedrunning game, infinitely replayable bitesized levels with secret routes galore. It also always feels incredibly fair and never once did I feel frustrated (except for a certain few bonus stages). Plus the soundtrack is amazing.

9.5/10, if only because the dialogue can be a bit embarrassing, especially early on. If the screenshots or gameplay footage appeal to you even slightly, you need to buy this game.

This, like the One More Fight DLC before it (which is now part of the base game? neat), is basically just a bit more Furi for people who really love Furi. If you didn't completely adore Furi, this DLC won't change that. But if you did, this feels like a no-brainer, even if at the very least to say "please, we want more of this". The new character plays just differently enough to feel distinct, but similarly enough that you're not re-learning from scratch. Other than that, it's mostly an excuse to play through Furi again - but god knows I'll take it.

That being said, two very minor gripes: The Star mode's shots are ridiculously loud, and there's no new achievements. The first can be fixed, the second is just a bit of a shame.

This game and Cave's other vertical shmup entry on Steam, Mushihimesama, are probably the definitive bullet hell games on steam. They're well-respected as the masters of the genre, and rightfully so. This game is a port of a port, and yet it still plays like it was ripped straight from the arcades (well, some purists may say otherwise, but for us who can't easily get a Tokyo arcade or afford the real thing...). There's a mind-boggling number of modes, each with its own flavour and spin on the basegame, and enough achievements to keep you coming back for more.

That is, of course, assuming you like bullet hell games. I wouldn't recommend this if it would be your first time dipping your toes into the danmaku pool. Though reading this far or even reaching this game in the first place it must be fair to say you have a passing interest. Mechanically, the game doesn't have very many gimmicks that you need to learn (*cough* ikaruga) in order to beat it and novice mode is fairly forgiving. But it does assume you know how to shoot and dodge, and at this price if you're unsure if the game is your kind of game you may be better off trying some of the cheaper options (such as Mushihimesama :P)

Overall, it's got a fantastic soundtrack, perfected gameplay, dozens of hours worth of content, solid graphics. It's by far one of the best bullet hell shmups on steam right now.
