Performance is bad. Like, TERRIBLE bad. I've heard some people defend the horrid performance with "World had performance issues on the PC launch too" but it's nothing quite like this. Top-of-the-line hardware from 2013 was still able to hit 1080p60 with maxed out settings in World at launch. Meanwhile, top of the line hardware from 5 years ago often struggles to hit a consistent 60 on 1080p MINIMUM graphics.

Story is pretty bad too. Lots of hand-holding and ♥♥♥♥ like it, and even then it's not really long enough to warrant its own existence. I'm putrid at the game, and even I finished every hunt on my first try.

There are very few monsters that I would call memorable. Arkveld gets to be memorable because the story revolves around him. Rey Dau is memorable because he was in the beta. And Doshaguma is memorable for being a f*cking hideous, unlovable, and uninspired monster designthat somehow still got reused.Beyond that, every other new name here slides off my memory like rainwater on a window. Even a monster I did like, Lala Barina, was hard to remember the name of.

Armor skills are mediocre. And decos are now limited to either going in your weapon or your armor. I think it might be to reign in how overpowered hunters were in base World and base Rise? If so, it's absolutely an over-correction.

From what I've seen, there is also little-to-no endgame, or rather very little endgame. That first TU cannot come soon enough.

All of these issues for $70. $110 if you're the stupid gullible idiot that bought the Premium Deluxe Edition.

I want to love this game.

But the inertia on the crosshair is nauseating.

People can say "It's simulating the slowness of movement in space!" until they're blue in the face. But you don't rotate your entire body to turn your head. Your eyes and neck are not fixed in place. So actually being in space doing this job would be less frustrating that this game makes it.
If they wanted to simulate that properly, they would have a deadzone in the center that moves the crosshair, and then rotate the character when you approach the edges of the screen. The problem this game creates for me was solved by Goldeneye 64. In 1997.

And it's INFURIATING, because everything else I've seen of the gameplay otherwise has been right up my alley, and I can't play it without my stomach doing backflips.

This could be solved with mods, but the developers took a stance against that, which is just... f*cking obnoxious.

Everything up to O&S seems okay, but post O&S seems... unfinished. Half-baked. Dare I say "bad"
