This should set an example for players standard, no more cancer third party launchers, no more cancer off site required logins, ESPECIALLY with ID required verification for a frequent data breached company.

It's a fantastic game but corporate greed should be curb stomped.

Hope is something that comes to mind of version 2.0

I picked up the game before 2.0 dropped and I was in love with it, loved the aspect of the open world, side missions, scavenging and being in constant fear of the unknown, getting the amazing Vibes of Stalker, the small bits of memories, the small bits of notes, made the world ever more welcoming to explore, nothing short of a master piece. Of course the frames left sometimes much to be desired(Power plant with the bunker) but when one got immersed they didn't matter that much in the end.

Yet - Now with the 2.0... I'm not too sure how to feel about it, with the new segmented world its a great improvement for the Frames yet - it makes it feel so... tiny and strangely empty.

As for other things;

-The clipping brush issue with 2.0 is horrendous, one of the few first locations you have access, you can't climb it due to the walkway onto the water tower just being slightly too high - so your character can not climb onto of it, jumping(IRL), running around it or anything won't help, keeping you away just teasing enough from reaching the main loot.

-Enemies health, has become much higher (or, haven't checked yet) Guns do much less damage, making you cry each time you have to spend 4(if you're accurate and the enemy isn't jumping or skittering around) on something you remember as being one of the most squishy and weak enemies.

-Knives, Knives feel useless with the idea of only having around 5 uses before they break, a normal standard enemy, will take 2-3 attacks (including the core) leaving it with 2 more before breaking, they feel redundant and pointless, more like a panic weapon to toss about, loose it and forget about it.

-Weird hand positioning, in 1.0 when you held a flashlight it felt like you held a flashlight, it came out of the top of your controller so you had to aim it down as if you were holding a real one, now as of 2.0 it feels more like a gun... the way you hold it at least.

-Object grappling feels more weird and slightly more annoying as of 2.0, it's been an issue since 1.0 but now it's even more obvious when I can't close the Cupboard in the shelter anymore due to it just constantly opening on its own.

-Movement, something has changed between 1.0 movement and 2.0 can't quite put my finger on it yet, the turning feels much more sensitive, trying to release the mag (on the HTC vive) will always cause you to turn in one of the directions slightly and the turning rate feels to sometimes be set as per menu and sometimes returning to its default value,

-Lack of a sleeping bag, possibly haven't gotten that far yet in 2.0 to see it or it has been removed (should possibly check the full patch notes), makes shelter very important, almost encouraging to not go too far from it, in fear of passing out or the night creeping up on you.

Now with most of the negatives that I've noticed this far, time for the positive stuff!

-Rework of the safe zone looks amazing, the shop rework is nice and welcoming, making the frames feel better and the abandoned feeling even stronger! The new lighting is much more enjoyable, striking this deeper fear of night when one is far away from Shelter.

-The Tide, I love the idea as a Stalker fan yet - ... I wish it was a bit more punishing for being out there during it.

-The addition of the fire place makes our small "home" feel nicer for relaxing! (and getting rid of those pesky Notes)
Speaking of which - as of 2.0 you can put the notes in your backpack which is an appreciated feature.

-The new Tool-tip and Weapon stats is much much much nicer, easier to go around and less buggy, as well as more interesting to see which weapon preforms better!

-New memory shards! More lore! More fun, more immersion!

-Improved shop and more things! Slightly reworked, feels much nicer!

-New textures, new objects make it feel much nicer and enjoyable to look at.

Now for the much desired wishes;

-Co-op. Big bad word sometimes when it comes to VR games, but CO-OP or some sort of small multiplayer would be absolutely blessed with this game, having a buddy with you to be scared with and enjoy this... Strange new zone would make this game a blast, sharing resources, scavenging together, more carry weight etc. But one can only wish, one can only expect so much from an Indie company already tackling such a massive thing, Like VR or especially Open world VR.
And I understand that you guys have decided to not tackle it, I respect it and won't shed a bad word or thought about it.

-More weapons or possible game modding allowed people to put in their own weapons(or gear)! Of course modding on already something in progress, or a tool for modding can be very hard to implement this late into the game development, it would expand the game life span and add more spice into it.

-Perhaps home customisation? Making the main shelter more welcoming or homely giving one more hope to push on. Or more consumables with different random effects! Alcohol, fresh food etc. (HP/Stamina regen etc.)

Conclusion:
I love this game, the idea, people making it as they are putting an effort into it. Yet of course there are issues like with any other game, but at least they're minor issues and I hope some big patch for bugs comes out soon, this is where the hope comes from, the bugs with clipping, grabbing and handling of some things as of the fresh full 2.0 release are a bit... as expected annoying.
Yet it won't stop me from playing it way too much! Especially with the Index on its way :)
I've probably haven't seen so much yet, on 1.0 I've only gotten to the second big shard of memories of a certain someone so I've yet to see so much else! So some of my review might seem lacklustre for which I apologise.

I recommend this game HIGHLY to anyone that Loved the S.T.A.L.K.E.R./Metro AND everyone who has a VR/is into Unknown semi-fantasy world! (it's never late to try getting into the Stalker/Metro[like] franchise!) and of course, anyone one who's eagerly waiting for Stalker2, with some of its Jankiness it even feels like a true Stalker game, giving it a bit of extra charm, which makes it amazing.

PS: I do not wish to kick down this game by comparing this game to Stalker/Metro, if anything I wish to give it more praise as it comes even further and beyond those! Having its own charm and challenges, making it such a beautiful standalone title.

"Slowly, gently, this is how a life is taken..." Sums up this game pretty well.
This game will show you if you have a possible stockholm syndrome due to the amount of possible rage and anger from one encounter of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Swine Skiver. Honestly, ♥♥♥♥ him.
Of course, you might (and you will) possibly find worse enemies than Swine skiver. Which is inevitable as everyone has a different favourite party that can deal with different encounters.

Now on the other hand, past the point that you might rage yourself into hell and sell the rest of your soul to Satan to not be critted 3 times on your weakest or squishished party member... On max light and a surprise round...
This game is really good, addictive and a lot of replay value, many styles or parties to play this game with, not to mention the DLCs add so much content.

Is this game worth your time?
Yes. If you have stockholm syndrome then especially.

Should you buy it if you don't have stockholm syndrome?
Yes. To make sure you don't have it. 4 Hours should be more than enough to know if the game is "Too hard" Or "Too punishing" (You damn pathetic weakling.)

Now to wrap this up, my mumble of madness and none sense.
Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

This game, has zero respect for you, for your time, for your wallet, for your well-being or for your joy of playing it.

The developers actively wanna ♥♥♥♥ you in the ass as much as they can, taking any possible joy or pleasure from the game you may have, you will get higher rewards for seal clubbing at lower BRs in a shorter span than getting a nuke in higher BR.

The BR system will always want to fück YOU but everyone else, you play 8.0? Well, now you're playing 9.0 in an uptier, always, oh you moved to 9.0 to get down tiered to 8.0? HAH, you thought you're playing 10.0 now! etc. etc.

Air RB is dead (skill vise) since the addition of missiles, the gameplay loop consists of flying for 10 min of full afterburner at mach, just to flip a coin whether you get killed by a silent missile, invisible missile and maybe you will get a lock warning.
And if you SOMEHOW don't manage to get magically snipped by something you should be able to chaff/flare/out turn, your missiles will do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on literally dead meat targets that fly in a straight line.

The balancing is as always and nothing changed in complete bias to favour a certain nation due to Gaijin being originally from that nation, whilst absolutely nuttering the nations they hate, like the British tree for example. 48 > 52.

"We will never add top tier premiums" - Hah, funny line.

The game-modes are well stuck in the 2016, nothing has changed, nothing was added, just more cancerous maps that you will drive for 15min just to die to someone who either sits in spawn for 15 min as you can clear visibility from spawn - to middle of map/Cap points. (Actively made worse by CAS or Up-tiers).

Speaking of game-modes, you wanted to play a tank game? ♥♥♥♥ YOU! Have CAS! now buffed even further than before! Remember the old RP-3 where a single Wyvern could kill 12 tanks? if not more? Well, we are well back to it with the new Russian CAS buff! APHE 45mm on plane cannons because why not! Gotta sell those premiums :)
Not to mention the funny "Skill issue meme" - "Just play SPAA - you will get rid of CAS" Yeah, maybe one, maybe two if you're lucky and they don't team on you... But otherwise you may have to deal with 5 other planes now seeing you distracted.
Not to mention how still it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ easy to spawn a plane, One kill in a medium, one cap in a light and you will have a full CAS load-out ready to go to destroy everyones and anyones fun, especially the person that may have killed you for you running out into the open :) Gotta love revenge killing.

Actively nerfing other nations belts/BRs of tanks that could now really help with either CAS or the amount of RAT vehicles they're adding in the latest updates.

"Guys we are open for suggestions and this is our road map" - I've yet to see any of the suggestions added to the game, I've yet to see any progress made to the game.
YES they did make it easier for bad players to "stay afloat/slowly get money" with no premium, but in doing so, they nuttered every other player which actually performed well. The only good change they've done was in 2018 where they've FINALLY removed the RP cap, but guess what? Now there is a progression cap BUT heeeey guuuuys, they balanced it out by adding a "Skill multiplier" for every kill you get, guess that that means? That's right, the average still has done and the illusion of higher reward is there for the "Skill multiplier"

For the love of god, I just wanted a fun ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Tank game, how is that so hard to do? Why are you going the path of WoT? Why do you shot yourself in the ♥♥♥♥ Gaijin?

This game is just not worth it, you will have a better time in hell than in this hot pile of ♥♥♥♥ that has zero respect for you and preys on new players to drop that stupid 60$ to play a modern vehicle that you would have to grind otherwise over 1000 hours without spending a dime on the game.

Keep killing this game Gaijin, you're doing well.
