The price is a bit steep for a remaster. They are both great games though. By far my favorite JRPG series. It has one of the best series lore in all of the RPG's I've played. The first is quite basic, but still a solid entry and will forever hold a special place for me growing up. The second vastly improves upon the first in terms of mechanics and QoL. The single best part of the remaster for the first title is definitely the QoL improvements made.

All in all it's definitely worth your time if you like classic JRPG's. Do a quick google search for the series if you have never heard of it and you are bound to find a large cult following. I really hope that this remaster will revive the series for Konami to expand into new games that build on the lore. There is already a mobile game announced that takes place before the first one chronologically.

Great game. Metroidvania done right. Difficult, but not so much that it takes away from the fun. Story is solid.

Previous review was maybe too harsh. I will say that I really enjoyed the sequel. I didn't care for the gameplay of this one. Fundamentally they are the same, but I feel like the gameplay for this one is unrefined.

Never played D&D before. It was definitely a learning curve. Once I started getting into it I was hooked. I had a similar experience with Elden Ring, since I never played any of the souls games before. I was overwhelmed with options. I'm a completionist and even using save scumming there is no way to do everything in several playthroughs.

Game can be pretty difficult sometimes. There are lots of grinding options to get your stats high enough to overcome the bosses.
