I keep coming back to this one. No other VR game feels more like a sport than this one. The enemy AI is fun to hate and beat. It's well balanced, requires good reflexes but isn't impossible to master. I'm loving it!

As a fan of Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander I was already sold to Planetary Annihilation. And I have to say it lives up to any of its spiritual predecessor and more! Few things beat the feeling of smashing a planet against another or unleashing a salvo of nukes. There are so many automation options that it's doable to maintain several open fronts at the same time without getting overwhelmed. True, deep strategy without the click-fest of RTS' like StarCraft, Warcraft or C&C (or the disappointing Supreme Commander 2). Highly recommended!

If you've played Red Storm Rising, back in the days, you'll feel right at home. Same strengths as its spiritual predecessor, but with a fresh coat of 21st century paint. The campaign mode gets very addictive, you'll find yourself doing "just one more mission" for a while. Always fun to blow commies out of the water. Highly recommended for sim fans.

The best way to throw axes short of doing it for real! Great on the HTC Vive. It's hard but feels very good when you succeed. What more could you axe for?

Good for a few levels, then they start to add gimmicky twists like the bow and arrow, sword and sniper rifle. The bow mechanic really falls flat compared to other bow and arrow games, and you can't just revert to the basic gun. So I loved it at first but the last few planets are a real let down.

Also, coop multiplayers don't take hand placements into account, so any attempt to communicate/point with your other coop players is futile.

The first few levels are good fun and it still has potential, but for now, especially at the price, I'd say skip it.

As someone who grew up in the '80s watching Jason Voorhees slay teenagers, I'm very much the target audience of this game. And it captures the essence of the genre quite beautifully, from the VHS effects, to the music, to the context and those oh-so-glorious killshots. The mechanics are simple enough, Skullface can only move in one of four directions, and he'll move until it runs into something that blocks him, something that kills him, or someone to kill. His inhability to stop is where the challenge comes from. Find the combination of moves that will allow you to kill all the teenagers and then leave without getting killed and before the cops show up can be quite the challenge. Considering his propensity to walk straight into a lake and drown, or into a fire and get burned alive, it's a miracle Skullface managed to last so many movies!

Every segment is just a few minutes long, so bite-sized play sessions are quite possible, always a plus for busy people. The game's learning curve is quite smooth. The first few movies are like satisfying walks in the park. Or slaughters in the park, if you prefer. As you reach the end of the third movie (where I'm stuck), difficulty starts to rank up. Fortunately, the game has a fast-forward feature if you ever find yourself stuck. This'll help you keep things fun until the end.

My main gripe with the game, and it's a rather small one, is that although controller support is there and complete, it's very hard to know which menu item is selected vs. those that are not. So you can start on the option you want, but you'll still to move the controller around to figure out which option is actually selected.

Great VR experience. Put on the helmet, grab a controller, and everything's there. All the text is legible, every option is available. So many VR titles are half-baked. This one's just awesome. And the game itself is beautiful and a lot of fun. Accessible yet challenging. I'm just three missions in so, will try and update my review after a while. Wanted to give a recommendation just for the game being such a polished VR experience. Kudos!

Beautiful art style. I love the little choices you get to make, especially when playing with your friends. Simple to pick up and play.

Best experienced on a couch with friends. When you're looking for a game you can actually get through in one sitting with a bunch of friends, it's perfect. It's meant to be experienced in multiple playthroughs, so there are good reasons to play again.
