I had a lot of fun with my partner. The game is very short, to be sure, but that's all good in my book. Just a great time to have with a buddy or something.

So far I'm really struggling to find the fun in this game. I love PvP, I love territory wars, I love the PREMISE of New World, but the execution of it seems to be lacking. From a technical standpoint there isn't anything wrong with the game (the servers are atrocious, yes, but the game itself is what I mean). It has a nice polish, it looks nice, it's competent in all aspects of the game, and even great in some of them. But it doesn't feel like anyone who made this game plays video games.

The character movement is slow, which is really bad because you have to run everywhere. The combat animations are stiff and uninspired. A lot of people yell "It's like Dark Souls, bro" and I wonder if these people have ever actually played Dark Souls. I've heard someone say before that New World feels like if you programmed an AI to make an MMORPG and I really have to agree with that. The game as a whole feels very soulless and uninspiring -- yet I'll still probably play more of it because that's just the state of the MMO genre right now.

Early Access Review
Fun game so far. Nosferatu turning invisible the moment you shoot at them is a little annoying but outside of that, it's chill.

Very good price for the product. A bit easy to exploit if you watch some guides online on how to play, but if you just go in raw you'll have a grand time with your friends.

While the gunslinger mode was clearly a desire to appeal to a wider audience, I don't think it's that big of a detractor as people say it is. I've still had plenty of success dealing with people who use that mode, and getting the jump on someone will still almost always lead to victory so stealth and slow-paced, tactical thinking still wins the day.

While the graphics and whatnot definitely took a hit, I think it's necessary for the lower end PCs and for the console boys. Remember this is Cry Engine, the same engine that brought the GPU melting Crysis. I'll take a graphic quality hit to ensure that more people can play it without $2000 rigs.

Overall, it's still the same game I fell in love with at the beginning. Still as tense and smart as it once was. My only major issue is the new menu system. The old menu was simple and easy to use, while this one has a lot of menus and sub menus that make navigation a needlessly complex chore. That aside, it's a great game. Give it a shot!

This game has no right being this good. If you like RPGs, and especially if you like Dungeons and Dragons, you owe it to yourself to play this game.
