A classic; never gets old. I just wish valve would pay attention to it again.

Early Access Review
It's legitimately so fun; one of the only games I willingly play that scares the hell out of me. My only gripe is that I wish we could actually exorcise the ghost as part of our missions because finding them and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ off is just strange to me.

A really fun game you can sink a lot of time in easily. There's still a lot I haven't done, despite putting more than 100 hours into this game. Also, the soundtrack is amazing!

As a long time fan of Borderlands, I absolutely adore this game. The gameplay is so satisfying and addictive. A lot of "negatives" I see for this game is how bad the story is, and as someone who enjoys the lore and characters... I've gotta say that I don't think it's exponentially weaker than the previous games. Maybe character arcs for some characters were weak, and of course there's so many characters and plot points I wish they brought back, but it's better than many people give it credit for. I wouldn't give it any writing rewards, but I had so much fun regardless and the story didn't sour my enjoyment at all. The humour aligns with what all the borderlands games have. The universe is inherently silly and lighthearted, and I love that! I think its biggest fault was that it was overhyped before it was even released.

Some more notes: They've made so many quality of life improvements from the past games that make BL3 such a joy to play. Gun handling, moving mechanics, and action skills are a joy. The sound design was AMAZING and the music they used for the boss battles and even ambiance is so great. There is a lot of funny moments and interesting missions, and I haven't even completely all the side missions yet. Very excited to start a new playthrough!

And for those who think the villains suck and should've brought back Jack: Guys. Jack sucks. And he's so overused. Villains being egotistical Streamers in a Cult is so funny and enjoyable. I'm glad Jack is nothing but a passing side quest in this game.

As the case with most other people, my actual play time is far greater of what's listed because I've been playing through the unofficial patch. That patch is an absolute must, but once downloaded... Oh my god! This game is absolutely amazing!!! The controls and bugs may be wonky, but this story and aesthetic is exactly what i've ALWAYS wanted out of a vampire game. It's dark and edgy, but it doesn't take itself seriously. The lore based off the tabletop RPG feeds you information in a way that's not overwhelming. The sound design and score and liscenced music are AMAZING! I legitimately feel like this game has re-written my DNA.

Negatives: The fact that you have to download a separate patch to even play it IS a pain in the butt, you'd think that steam would sell you a version of this game that works normally. But honestly, it's not hard to download and figure out so it's no big deal.

Another negative is a bit of anti-asian racism. Chinatown and the Kuei-jin just SCREAM "yellow peril". As someone who is asian himself, it was kind of cringe to see how they're depicted in this game: "Oh they're eviler than us, just because."

In any case, that's all my real complaints. If I had to nitpick, I wish I could get my male toreador to flirt with more guys since the girl vampires can flirt with other girls, but it's not a deal breaker or anything. The bugs aren't big enough to bother me either; usually I can reset them if I load up a save. Despite its flaws, I love this game.

TLDR: This is everything I've ever wanted in a Vampire game and I want to replay it again and again!

This game is SO amazing. It presents a very simplified version of DnD in a way that's really easy to understand and pick up even if you've had little exposure to it. The battles are so addictive and satisfying, the dialogue is so witty and fun, and you get SO attached to the characters you help make. Since playing, I've completely lost track of time and end up playing more than I plan. IT'S SO GOOD.

This is one of my favourite games. I got this as a gift for my birthday... A delightful RPG with an amazing story... hilarious dialogue and can be heartfelt. Amazing soundtrack too. My favourite thing is that in missions, you can choose your approaches... You can go in guns blazing, you can sneak through, or you can talk your way into or out of situations. I absolutely LOVE all the companions. There is so much personality in this game! I love this game so much!!! Also, Murder on Eridanos is one of the best DLC campaigns I've ever played!

This visual novel is unique in art, sound design, and story!!! I love the art direction, with photograph backgrounds and sketchy notebook style sprites for the characters that are black and white. It gives a sort of otherworldly feel to it. The sound design and music gives the ambiance an unsettling "teetering on the edge" sort of feeling, where you feel like something could happen at any moment. And the story? Oo, it's just so interesting and unique. It gives us JUST enough to piece together what kind of world this is without being too obvious. First playthroughs can be confusing, but in a way where you desperately want to find out more. And with each new playthrough, even when repeating a route, you notice more and more things about the story and characters you haven't before. And let me just say, compelling and new narratives about LGBT+ characters in these unique situations that can ONLY be applied to them... it's just the content we need to expand the LGBT+ genre beyond coming out stories. I can't reccomend this game more tbh.

I love this DLC!!!! It's amazing to come back to this game with NEW CONTENT! After years!!!! I'm so in love with this franchise and this was a breath of fresh hair.

Here are some pros! And things to expect, spoiler free:
First of all... I think it was very great of Gearbox to give this DLC for free. I don't know if that's temporary, just for the first month or two of release... BUT STILL. What better way to get your audience hyped and ready for Borderlands 3 than free access to the transition from one game to another...
The villain is fun and I love his motive! AND!!! The existing characters are great in this! Characters who lacked character arcs in the base game really SHINE in this DLC! Lilith, Mordecai, Tina, Ellie, Scooter... It warms my heart to hear them again, with more to say after everything that's happened... It feels like I'm revisiting old friends. And new ones! I love Vaughn in this (although he's a bit flat in terms of personality in this game... ah well.) All in all the writing is SO good. It's such a step up from the writing in the base game, honestly.
New weapons and Rainbow Rarity are sooo exciting. Gives us another goal to strive for. I got SO excited when I saw those rainbow guns. Definitely adds replayability wrt farming and trying to find the loot.
And... THE MUSIC TOTALLY SLAPS. The Soundtrack really brings this world together. It gave so much personality to the world.

Here are some legitimate problems I did have with the DLC though, which I think is only fair to share:
Large empty spaces to travel between, which normally I wouldn't mind because all the Borderlands games have that, and the vehicles make it better... The reason why it's a problem in this DLC is because there's muuuch less respawn points. I remember being overwhelmed in a room full of enemies and dying, and being respawned a room or two BACK which is really frustrating when you're trying to make progress and you're on your own.
There isn't a lot of rewards to missions. Besides Experience Points and Money (which... honestly after awhile money isn't super useful in BL2 when you have so much of it), there were only weapon/skin rewards for a handful of the missions. I'm not super obsessed with loot, but it's still a nice incentive to do the side missions knowing there's a reward. But there wasn't many in this DLC.
And... this is a very small complaint, but I'm disappointed there's no unique dialogue for the playable characters. The vault hunters you play say NOTHING throughout the whole dang game. That's my favourite thing about Presequel, and I know Gearbox knows this because the BL3 vault hunters are also chatty. It's weird to me that the vault hunters in this DLC don't say anything. I get why, but it's still a bummer.

Is this DLC worth it? Yes. Right now, at launch, it's completely free and I can't imagine anyone giving this a negative review for the price. Gearbox didn't have to make this DLC free at launch but they did anyway, which is great. But once the pricetag does drop, I think any fan of Borderlands will enjoy this DLC. I highly recommend playing it!
