I’m about half way through the campaign, replayed several missions in the simulator to try other builds, and played some of the coop. I’m pretty happy with my purchase.

Functionally it all works quite well, I’m playing it on Linux. Gameplay wise I’m having a lot of fun. There’s definitely a meta with laser builds but most load outs are viable.

I’ve played most of the other games for this IP and read some of the Battletech books so I’m a little biased, but Mercenaries was pretty mediocre on release. That Battletech turn based game also didn’t quite scratch the itch although I should probably revisit it after all those patches.
