Ys I and Ys II are classic Action RPGs with great music, a decent story and some cute girls. The bump system combat certainly isn't bleeding edge hack and slash fun, but it's dead simple and makes everything seem fast paced. Ys II spices up the formula a little bit by adding different magical abilities that Adol can use. Both aren't terribly long games, probably running 4-6 hours for your first run, and less once you know where all the important items and gear are. Definitely recommend picking up on a sale for some fun.
