Just another "survival" game that is essentially managing status bars and not much else. Enemy AI is basic run straight at you attack and can be foiled by any rock or elevated structure. Everything seems to be built around starting from scratch each time, but with no explanation on why you land in a fancy dropship buck naked not taking anything from inside and a snarky voice over the radio telling you to do things. And for missions restarting all your progress every time you would think the early game would be the fun part!

In order to unlock things you need to grind levels, which can be most easily done by simply running forward and mashing "f" tearing up every single plant imaginable on this planet. Or you can headshot animals as a stealth archer just like in Skyrim. In fact, this game is essentially Skyrim, you walk in a picturesque valley of snowcapped mountains and collect hundreds of berries and melons and pumpkins while random wolves pace around. However, in this Skyrim world with your grass clothes and wooden tools you are reminded this is actually a science fiction game as you are required to collect rocks to put under a balloon to breathe, as there is an oxygen meter you need to keep track of, as food and water is not urgent enough to take care of apparently.

The only saving grace of my experience were the storm and weather events, which were really well done. The rain rolls in and wind picks up, making you take shelter or face some debuffs. Trees sway and break and fall, which is really well done, but with the frequency and severity of these storms, you'd think no forests would exist on this planet as the trees snap so easily.

In my first mission I unlocked an achievement only 4.4% of players get to kill a wolf boss on the hardest difficulty. This was pretty trivial even with my wooden javelins and arrows as I simply had to stand on a tall rock and pelt the poor helpless wolves as they stared at me from below growling menacingly. I guess that explains why our astronaut embarks on missions with nothing since they are so capable.

The next mission I had to plant a tracker and defend it from wild animals. I faced bears, jaguars, boars, and more wolves. However, each acted identically as they spawned in one by one, walking in a straight line at me, where I easily killed them with more wooden javelins. I cannot in my right mind see how anyone thinks this is a hardcore survival game, and how there is a DLC bundle totaling $150. I realize now that my progress now was also doubled on this free double XP weekend, so I would have had to grind twice as long as I did to get to my "tier 2 - level 10" in order to unlock more "interesting" missions.

Maybe missions get more complex, maybe new enemies have improved AI later in the game, but if the start is as broken and simple (on hardcore difficult as well) then the game certainly is not for me.

Beautiful and extremely satisfying to play

Completely unbalanced, and stops being fun after the inital laughs when you first start the game. At this point you can play with your friends for 30 minutes before it gets boring. With basically more than half the map "locked" and extremely glitchy the game looks like it was pushed out for the Chrismas season just to see how many people would buy it for the lols. If you want to burn 5 bucks for some laughs, go ahead. This concept is AMAZING, yet the execution at this point is pretty terrible. At once point while playing the baby my view was locked straight forward, so I could no longer turn at all, making the game impossible.

This game needs more work. If the devs keep working this has the potential of being a fantastic game, however, it is so early access it hurts. Wait until the game gets more content.
