Outer Wilds is a cosmic tale that feels grounded and personal like no other. I only regret that I can never experience it again.

When I played Outer Wilds, I was at a record low point in my life; I felt alone, I felt forgotten and I felt totally swept to the side by my circumstances at the time. I was pushing through a uni course I didn't like, living off of my savings and freshly separated from a long-term relationship. It was a total fluke that my friend recommended this game to me on his Game Pass account, I might never have played it otherwise.

This game helped me to dig deep and reach some levels of introspection I may have otherwise never found. I do not hesitate to say that this is my favourite piece of media, and quite possibly the best story ever told in a video game. It could not work in any other format and it is tantamount that you play it as blindly as possible.

Also, Echoes of the Eye is an incredible experience that nearly eclipses the base game, I wholeheartedly recommend that you buy it in tandem.
