For an MMORPG, it was quite refreshing coming from a game like WoW. It was just as fun as any other MMORPG I've play in the past once I got into an active guild so I wasn't left playing alone all the time. That's the whole point of a game being an MMO, isn't it? Because of the combat system, even farming/grinding can be made fun and exciting; and the end-game content, including the cosmetic stuff which I do consider end-game since it shouldn't matter too much until you're at that point, is full of enough content to keep me busy each time I played.

My biggest gripe with the game overall is its poor optimization. For a system like mine (AMD FX-6300 at 4.5GHz, 8GB DDR3, R9 270X) that's more than capable of running modern AAA games at med/high settings at 1080p with very playable framerates, it's discouraging to try and contend with choppy at best and very low FPS even at the lowest settings. In fact, I didn't notice a discernable difference in FPS between the lowest settings and even medium/high like you would in most games. Ultra is just not a reasonable option for me in most games anyway.

When talking to fellow players who do play with "good" framerates, they're typically recalling high-end components (e.g. 980 Ti's, i7 K SKU's, etc). Considering the graphics in the game are not exactly next-gen with insane shaders and what not, it's very hard to understand the demanding requirements this game has. It's not that I can't afford to upgrade to a "premium" gaming rig, I just have no need to. I play every other game in my collection with great framerates at more than adequate graphics settings. Heck, I play Tomb Raider on Ultra with very playable FPS.

That said, would I recommend this game? Sure I would. It was definintely fun to play; unfortunately, the poor performance on my system is the main reason I haven't bothered trying to find a new guild since the one I was in was dissolved. I just can't be bothered to go through that again. It was the guild and the fun I had with them that kept me playing through the painful framerates.
