Sidestepping Bethesda Nonsense

• Quake is one of my favorite games of all time, but Bethesda has retroactively added changes to the game on Steam which injected many online-only features, so you can no longer play the original version on this platform. I run an enhanced version using an alternative launcher called Darkplaces with a collection of mods for improved textures/sounds/text/lighting/effects sourced from various forums, along with my own custom sky box.
• I have compiled the version I use into a plug-and-play archive, simply extract and run. [drive.google.com]
